How much space?
Hello everyone.

I've just bought this game 2 days ago and after playing for the first time (about 1 hour) I can't play any longer and I got some questsions to you all.
First is about the space this game takes. When I want to install it, it tells me that Xenoverse needs about 13 GB of space but when it's being installed it tells me it need only 8 GB.
The second is - I found out that I don't have any communicate that tells me "Connecting to Xenoverse servers" or something like that. When I was playing it for the first time I didn't check if it connected me or not.
The third is - what should I do to properly play this game? I'm reinstalling it at this moment, hope it'll help... But still it tells me that this game needs only 8 GB of space, while it said it needs 13 GB when I accepted the rules, etc.

Am I doing something wrong? I do meet the recommended settings for this game, so I don't think it's my computer's fault. Is there any other reason why I can't play this game?

1: The game is Always Online. So you have to connect to the server to play the game unless you set it to Steams Offline Mode/ Disconnect your Internet.

2: The store page says it recommends 10GB of free space. How much does it say when your installing the game because that is how much space it is going to take up, not counting DLC and patches.

Well, okay.
Still I don't know why I can't play the game. When I go to "Start the game" and then I choose my character, It "freezes" in a loading screen. It got a soundtrack, I can see the text saying "Loading" is slightly moving but I can wait for ever and even then it won't load the game.

Try Steam Offline Mode as the servers have had many many issues since Day 1.

Click Steam in the upper left hand corner.
Click Go Offline
Click Restart in Offline Mode

If your still having trouble getting into the game this way then there is an issue with your PC.

What kind of issue could it be if I played this game today for an hour?

Since that 1-hour adventure I can't load the game again. While I was playing, I went into Options and set the volume down cuz it was too loud for me (in game options, ofcourse). Then something happened cuz the whole game screen turned black. I could hear the soundtrack, my character jumping and running around but I couldn't see anything cuz of that black screen. I decided to exit the game and load back again. Since that moment I couldn't log into my character.

Yeah try Steam Offline Mode for now to see if you can play in the mode.

As for the issues...well I will do some looking into it and if Steams Offline Mode does not work let us know and I will tell you anything I find.

Is your video card up to date ?
Sumi Mar 10, 2015 @ 5:18pm
Yes, I'm pretty sure it is.

Can you access your graphic options? If so try to nudge them up a level and see if that fixes the issue.

If that fails tell us what video card you have so we can link you to a spot you can make sure your graphic drivers are all up to date.

I don't really understand the "nudge them up a level". ;<
I'm using Nvidia GeForce GTX 660. I've just installed the game again. Gonna try that offline mode.

Well it just means if they are on Lowest setting try adjusting them to Medium settings.

Anyway this link should help you:

http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience

I use this and have to say it is a god send. It automaticly downloads driver updates for your Nvidia GeForce card and it has options to optimize your games settings. I just can't recommend it enough for people with Nvidia cards.

I do already have GeForce Experience on my PC. Checked if my drivers are the newest with it.
And I've just tested the game in Online and Offline mode. Both were a failure. Counted to 100 sheeps while this damn text ("Loading") was blinking in front of my eyes.
I'm going to try one more thing which I did today to run PS3 controller on my PC (as I'm using a Win 8.1 I had to do something in advanced options of this system)

But I'm not sure if it works. I changed these settings before playing DBX for the first time and it was ok.

You should also go to My Computer (Or just hold down the Windows Key and hit E, opens Explorer) and check to see how much free space your C drive has. That sounds like the issue you had when trying to install, but could also make it very slow to load or cause issues if you don't have enough space. You could always let Windows clean up files you don't use, plus empty any browser cache you may have (IE, Chrome, Firefox). Or, if you have some files you don't need, move them to an external HDD.

You also might try changing the graphics settings as others have said. I know when I launch GW2 or after playing DBXV for a few minutes my TV goes black. So I changed my refresh rate down from 60 to 59 and havent had any issues since. Stuff like that. Refresh rate may not be changeable depending on what resolution you have it set to however.

I have looked into it and found two solutions.

1: Reinstall the game and then use file integrity check.
2: Try unplugging anything you have plugged into your USB's and restart the game again.

Sorry...that is the best I can find.

Here this also might help. I knew it was some where but couldnt remember exactly where I had seen it.

In your account for your computer locally there should be an AppData folder. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO Games\DB Xenoverse\

Go there, replacing <username> with whatever your account is, and then try deleting the DBXV(.ini) file. This holds your graphics configuration. Deleting it will should recreate it to default settings in case it some how got corrupted.

If you cant find the folder named AppData you can just go to the path by pasting it in the url/path box, or press alt > Tools > Folder Options > Click the view tab > and select the radial button that says "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".

As I thought, changing these setting in advanced settings of my PC didn't help.

Yusion - I got 1,6TB of free space. But gonna try that trick with changing the refresh rate and deleting that file.

Sayla - Just unplugged the PS3 controller from my USB. Gonna try if it makes a difference. Otherway I'm gonna fall to sleep cuz of that counting. :p

Thanks you all for help. Gonna try and will let you know if it works or not. :)
