PQ 16 Explanation? [Super Saiyan Legend]

It says on the hidden requirements:

16- Befriend Vegeta and clear with him alive/Defeat Super Saiyan Vegeta

1100 Zeni, Med. Mix Capsule, “Let me awaken your power”, “I’ll never forgive you, scum!”, “I’m Super Saiyan Goku!”, Death Meteor, Super Vegeta, Chain Destructo-disc Barrage

What the hell does it mean to befriend vegeta? Do I need to select him? Find him? I went on friezas ship after he showed up but didn't see vegeta.

Beat 3 forms of frieza but never saw vegeta.

After Frieza appears go in the portal to the ship and talk to krillin, have him join you. Then leave and get back to Frieza and have krillin die, after that you can just start killing Frieza. Goku will appear first and then Vegeta eventually, after Frieza dies Vegeta will go SS and you have to fight him.

That whole PQ is a reference to the SNES rpg 'legend of the super saiyan'.

On freiza's ship you can find Krillin, in one of the rooms with the healing tanks and Gohan behind a closed door, bring him to the fight against frieza.
Let him be killed so Goku and Vegeta show up, Goku goes Super Saiyan.
After the fight if Vegeta is still alive he can go Super Saiyan too and become the final boss.

Krillin is always in one of the rooms on Frieza's ship with kid Gohan. But actually getting Vegeta to go SS is the RNG part.

Vegeta going SSJ might be RNG. He did it on my first attempt and I picked up the Super Vegeta transformation without problems. Just follow the steps already listed above and it should be relatively easy. Unlike SSJ and SSJ2, you have to achieve Super Vegeta and Super Vegeta 2 in their respective PQs.

I completely agree. I have no qualms with RNG on drops, but it irks me to no end that they also have RNG's for events, even if you do the requirements properly.

For Destructo Disc Barrage, kill Frieza without allowing Krillin to die. It's easiest to get Frieza to full power and very low on health, then fetch Krillin before finishing the fight. It took 3-4 attempts for me to unlock the skill using this method due to RNG.

For the Z-soul, Krillin must die so that Goku appears and transforms. After that, it's just RNG whether or not you get the soul.

Kept doing this quest over and over and over and kept getting jack squat. As in no rewards at all. Found out that Destructo Disc barrage will be sold in the skill shop later in the story so I'm giving up on getting it here.
