LAG FIX (FPS)

I had a problem with lagging in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. As I entered the first match vs. Frieza, playing as Goku, the game was unplayable and had at least 2-3 seconds delay, with a max framerate of like 10 or lower.
I found a temporary fix by lowering resolution to the lowest resolution. However, playing it on a super small screen really wasn't too enjoyable. So I had to find another solution, and I asked a programmer friend of mine for help.

It seems that Dragon Ball Xenoverse in many cases isn't automatically selecting the GPU correctly. Instead it chooses "Integrated graphics" which is absolutely awful.
My GPU is an NVIDIA Geforce, so I did the following to fix it:

Desktop > right click > NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Change "Preferred graphics processor" to your GPU. NOT integrated graphics and NOT auto-select.
Also go to the other tab next to Global Settings named "Program Settings" and "Add" Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and then "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program", to the correct one as well.
The correct one in my case is: "High-performance NVIDIA processor".

I don't know what equivalents of NVIDIA Control Panel there are for AMD or GPU's of other brands, but if you're lagging like crazy and can't figure out why, this could surely be the fix you're looking for.

I'm still having a problem with my game even though i've changed the settings around. I just got an xbox controller on the day I experienced some lag as well. Is there any way for me to still manage to use it without random lag spikes?

This is a common problem with any of the ivy bridge / sandy bridge / whatever intel bridge setups. Always force your primary GPU before playing graphic intensive games.

When I right click I there is nothing about nvidia. I can't install nvidia because I don't meet the requirements I clearly do meet ._. Help me please...

ouhh does anyone know how to fix this on intel HD graphic??

most people dont know 2 do this but not all people with laptops have more then Integrated graphics it seems that even with Integrated graphics u can play as someone else on i was talking to on steam was able 2 play with no lag on Integrated graphics i think he has intel hd 5000 i forget i know that with intel hd 3000 u cant play this game lag free at all LOL

This is a stretch, but is it possible to play it completely lag free on the highest quality with an Intel(R) HD Graphics card? I don't wanna have to buy a new graphics card ( Because I'm new to PC Gaming ) And I don't mind changing a bunch of setting In and out of the game. I'll even download a couple of stuff.

Yooo thanks dude. So far so good. Before just running around the main lobby I would be moving smoothly and then out of no where I would go really slow and then boost forward. And then I was just in the time mission where you are ginyu and have to help krillin and gohan defeat 20 of friezas soilders or some ♥♥♥♥ and it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare cause i guess there were so many entities and ♥♥♥♥ that it lagged horribly and i kept losing. Also since its in friezas space ship there were many times that the camera was kinda getting stuck because of the tight corners. Otherwise I thought that quest was really cool, being in the spaceship and all. Thanks again man, you are a life saver.
