so is there actually a co-op story mode?
or just a mp fighting game

The story is solo only. But there are a lot of parallel quests that cover a lot of the story missions with slight tweaks (you can co-op them).

Yeah, there isn't much story content that's not recreated in PQs, to be honest. You won't miss much.

Some story missions are a bit hard as well, but nothing on the scale of PQs. Really fun to do them with other people as well.

Just for the quests? Maybe no but the game as a whole is very enjoyble. There are 55 parallel quests in total and more coming with DLC if thats all you are interested in. Go watch or read a review to see if this is a game for you.

If you like grinding and have time for it: Yes it's worth it, but not now because servers are ♥♥♥♥.
If you don't like grinding or don't have time for it: No, forget it.

I might add, everything is playable right now except for the online lobby (meaning, you can still play with other people online, just not have them running around in the hub). You can entirely skip the server problem, which is very nice to see in a game that uses this kind of online-offline hybrid system.

But it's not hardcoded into the game; you WILL see some artifact of a connection problem and it WILL delay you, even if you start Steam in offline mode. Plus you need to consult Baba's black majicks in order to navigate your way to a workaround to everything.

Online content is p2p, so stability depends on each player's connections. And you hardly need 1337 sk1llz to disconnect and reconnect your internet once when starting the game.
