If your dub makes 10-year-olds cringe then it's probably not weeaboo for them to prefer the Japanese version.

Japanese. I really hate these English voices (I grew up with French voices, I'd use that but that's not a choice :p)

For reference here is the last scene in original Japanese:

You may recognize the music as a reprise of Piccolo's theme, i.e. giving it an air of his megalomania instead of just a chopper revving up

Japanese. English dub is atrocious, one of the worst official dubs i've ever heard. In english some voices (Goku, Piccolo, Frieza) are just painful to listen to after you know how they're supposed to sound.

Japanese.
Both are fine, though something about Sean Schemmel makes me feel uncomfortable. It's not bad, it just feels like a strain for him. Goku shouts SO much, and everytime I hear him rage at Freiza I worry for the voice actor.

Love Japanese Goku's blood curdling screams :D

English because I'm not a weeaboo.

ESPECIALLY in the case of DBZ. Probably the biggest example of completely garbo Japanese voices, and truly fitting & well performed English voices.
Wow, that goes too far even for a trolling.

I don't have much of an issue with the voices, and I have watched the Dubbed DBZ series but the game constantly has english voice overs that are completely different to what was subtitled, I know I can turn it off but its been really annoying me so tried Japanese instead and I dunno... It has sorta been growing on me.

I don't universally hate all dubs but I generally consider the voice acting to be part of the artistry of the original show. Plus I have a general dislike of "adaptations" when there's no significant direction taken with the material other than to adapt it for a brainless Hollywoodesque audience. In this regard FUNimation did, and still does take significant liberties with the source material, as well as most of the dubbers (Malaysian dub is especially absurd). An example of this is when Gohan defeats Cell in DB:XV and Yamucha's reaction is "Yatta... Yatta!" and they decided to translate this as "I... I did it!" Very funny, guys. That's not what he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ meant though.
English suck in all anime games, is really so bad... Original japanse voice FTW
It's really not weeaboo to prefer the Japanese version of a series to the English one. It wouldn't be weeaboo to prefer, say, the original French or German version of a foreign film with subtitles to a dubbed over one, would it? Sometimes it's just hard if not impossible to capture the feeling of the original in a translation, REGARDLESS of language.

Now, if all those of us who prefer Japanese were screaming OMG DA JAPANEZ VERSION IZ DA BES ♥♥♥ DA ENGLISH FAK DA HATERS GOKUU AND BEJIITA (DATS HOW U SPELL THERE NAMES, BAKA) R MAI HUBANDOS OMG SO KAWAII DESU NE XDXDXD

...THAT would be weeaboo.

Honestly though, I think there are a lot of people on BOTH sides who might not give the opposite version a fair chance. Too many people hear Gokou, which yeah would take getting used to if you're not familiar with it, and run away and call the entire Japanese version terrible - without listening to the likes of Vegeta or Freeza's performances. On the same token I think a lot of Japanese fans are too biased against the dub because of how it used to be - and I understand this because it took me a really long time to respect FUNimation as a dubbing company (which, in 2015, they're the best, and I enjoy a lot of their dubs) because of the pile of trash the original DBZ dub was. Censorship, awful voices, corny jokes, terrible music...but I think a lot of the hardcore Japanese fans haven't given Kai a chance. I watched the majority of Kai on Nicktoons, and aside from some language and violence censorship it didn't feel dumbed down in the slightest. I really enjoyed the Kai dub and I think by far it redeemed their past treatment of the series. There was a lot of love put into it, the new voices for Freeza Gohan and Bulma are pretty much perfect, and even if Schemmel's Gokou and Sabat's Vegeta are still not my cup of tea I commend their performances in Kai.

I haven't played Xenoverse in English yet but I understand from friends who have that it's up to Kai's standards. I would say to the Japanese fans to at least give the Kai dub a try before you pass a verdict...it'll never be as close to my heart as the Japanese version but it's really no longer that terrible dub many of us remember.

----------

TL;DR I think English fanboys should play a few story cutscenes in Japanese and Japanese fanboys should do the same with the English version instead of passing snap judgment on it. Really give it a chance. If you have and still dislike the other version that's cool, we all have our preferences, but both are due a fair chance.

Japanese sounds better but you won't understand anything and you'd have to be a SSJ irl to be able to both fight effectively and read the subtitles at the same time. So English, sadly.
English.
No Taka in Japanese equals automatic loss.

Both are fine? Are you sure?

Because English versions is just bad. Like really bad. It's not even up for debate. I can understand if people like this cheesy acting and that's fine but it just isn't good voice acting.

On another note, favorite character is Japanese Perfect Cell. The amount of Ego in that voice is just amazing.
I really prefer the English ones.. sadly i think the Japanese ones are to high-pitched. I get thats just the way they speak but still.. :P
