How the hell do I keep Bardock alive?

In the first mission of the secret saga, I always stay with him but he always ends up dying when frieza comes. Its so stupid and impossible. Am I doing something wrong?

i leveled a saiyan alt to 50 (takes like a hr with pg) and then spamed x100 big bang kamehameha for the entire mission and killed frieza with bardock at 90% hp

Punch them to attract their attention to you and keep juggling them around with punches and ults. Once Frieza comes out focus entirely on him and hopefully Bardock stays alive. Make sure you bring healing items to keep yourself up too.

Super Saiyan spam/use the duplicate super glitch with Kid Buu's super vanishing ball. This game has some silly ways to cheese.

Get Ultimate Fighting Bomber Ultimate Attack and spam the hell out of it. You can get it at PQ 8, in case you don't have it (might take a few tries).

i quit
he literally dies before frieza even comes out. then i have to kill a 2 health bar frieza while he gets beat up by those soilders

also i dont use ki blasts at all. my clothes lessen ki blasts by 20 and i have no points in ki blasts. im a full melee frieza race.

You keep Bardock alive by killing faster, its an aggro fight.

This is the advice I'd recommend for non-super saiyans. Just target the enemy thats hitting Bardock, don't focus on him, just hit him with a short combo and blast him away with a super, then immediately switch to another target (preferably one that's attacking Bardock). Also helps if you have Fighting Pose K, which prevents knockbacks, and an AOE ultimate you can use whenever possible (not sure what good AOE ultimates strike users have though)

i used recoome bomber attack, and would stay close to bardock as possible and spam this, as enemies tend to get close, as a ki based spec, i would kill 2-3 at a time, in one shot or nearly do so...still he only had 1% life when i ended so... its rough.
