DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

[Offline Mode - How To] Xenoverse Single Player
First things first, this is a bandaid for what needs stitches so please take it for what you will. This is an instruction on how to block the connection both to and from so that it doesn't even attempt to log onto the internet and just allows for the single player experience only. You're still capable of accessing the shops, trainers, Parallel Quests, and most importantly the main storyline without the persistant threat of disconnection or lag.

With this method you don't need to play Steam in Offline Mode or turn off your ethernet connection as some are doing. This will allow access to your friends list, achievements, and everything else.

EDIT: Yes, I agree there should be an in-game option. But there currently isn't one. This is for those who are exiting the program and returning persistantly. If you're comfortable with using Steam in Offline Mode or toggling the ethernet, that's fine. This is just another option that some might not be aware of.

Windows 7

1. Click the start button (a circle with the windows symbol most commonly)

2. In the search bar type "Firewall" without quotes

3. Click "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security"

4. A new window will pop up. On the left hand panel of the window click "Inbound Rules"

5. You'll see several games and programs in the center window. Ignore that for now.

6. On the right hand panel click "New Rule..."

7. A new window "New Inbound Rule Wizard" will pop up. Default selection should be "Program". If not, click the radial button and hit next.

8. Now you need to browse for your game file. Commonly in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\DB Xenoverse

9. Once there, click "DBXV.exe" May also be seen as "DBXV" depending. Click next after the path is loaded.

10. There are now three options. Click "Block the Connection". Click next.

11. All the check boxes should be checked. If not, click them. Then click next.

12. Give it a name. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" will be the easiest identifier for most. Add a description if you so choose.

13. In the "Inbound Rules" at the center panel you'll now see your given name with a crossed out symbol rather than a check mark. This means you're done with that step.

14. Click "Outbound Rules" on the left hand panel.

15. Repeat steps 6 through 12.

16. Don't forget to turn it off once server issues are resolved.

NOTE: This trick also works to play Dark Souls 2 without invasion from players but blocks Blue Phantoms as well.

Removing the Inbound/Outbound Rule

1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 in the above.

2. In the center panel find your previously added rule. Click it.

3. In the right hand panel click "Delete"

4. The window will pop up to confirm. Click yes.

5. Play Dragon Ball Xenoverse Online... if servers allow.

Its completely insane that you should have to go through all these loopholes to play the game by yourself, without the server connection, or put steam in offline mode. There should be a damn option IN THE GAME to fix this. Its so dumb.

It's easier to deactivate the ethernet connection and reconnect it after you get into the game than blocking the game completely. Then you can still play PQ and PvP via multiplayer.

Or instead of doing all those steps, you just play in offline mode.

Or maybe we could have a working offline mode that does not make you have to go through this? Oh the steam offline does not work for me.

No excuses.

Agreed. There should be an easy fix in the game where I don't have to set steam to offline mode just to play it.

No excuses.

Agreed. But unfortunately the developers didn't see fit to put that into the game options so we make the best of what we have.
