DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE
Unlocking / Info Guide

PQ Drops:
As most have realized, PQ drops are basically random. Each mission as a set loot table of items, these are the items available but they won't be the ones you will definitely get. Each item set is linked to a certain character or "objective". For example in one mission you have to fight Broly twice. The first time you beat him he drops an piece of Videl's clothing. The second time a piece of his own clothing. This goes for moves as well. If you are looking to obtain a move, chances are you have to beat the character who uses said move. Some items are hidden behind the Ultimate Finish Stage. You can not earn multiple copies of moves / attacks, once they are obtained they are taken off the loot table and, hopefully, increase the chances of gaining other items.

Ultimate Finish Stage:
Each PQ has a hidden "last boss" battle. Most missions require you to beat everyone in a certain amount of time, or keep an AI allys health over 50%. Some have are a bit more in-depth. There is a guide pinned on this forum page with the list. Consult that. Do be aware that performing these hidden objectives does not guarantee that the Ultimate Finish will unlock for you. It's all a gamble. So keep grinding away. Most of the best gear (or most desired at least) is obtained in these stages and, again, it's a random drop. So keep at it.

Clothing Unlocks:
The majority of clothing is unlocked from beating PQs. You will not obtain the whole outfit from the PQs though, just a piece of it and you can earn duplicates. The rest are able to be purchased in the store after beating "sagas" in the Story Mode. You'll know you've beaten a Saga by the fact that you've obtain a trophy for it. There a few exceptions though.

- The Great Saiyaman Helmet
This is actually obtained in PQ 30 "Great Saiyaman is Here". Simply start the mission, head to any other area, beat up some of the Ginyu Force and then return to the starting area. Gohan and Videl should be in the area as NPCs. Talk to Gohan and he will let you become a "Great Saiyaman like myself!" which will then give you the helmet. Just beat the mission.

- Journey to the West Outfit
You simply unlock this by earning all 7 Dragon Balls and wishing for them. You obtain the entire set I believe.

- Time Patrol Set
This set is kinda weird. It seems all you have to do is beat the entire main campaign and then speak to a lot of the NPCs around town. These would be the ones with blue names. After speaking to the right people, it doesn't seem to specify who, you will see a group of aliens near the PQ Office in Ginyu Force poses. Speak to the robot (Thirith) and he should give you the set of Patrol gear.

-Basics of the Mentor Program
Mentors appear in the city as you beat the story, simply talking to them will let you take them on. You can have multiple trainers in a sense, but only one active at a time. Switching trainers does not lose any progress. So feel free to move around but I'd suggest doing one to completion or at least until the Friendship Bar is full if you are stuck on their mission. Do note that some are locked (Frieza can't be used until Ginyu is completed, and Goku and Beerus are locked until level 70) and they don't always appear in the city. You might have to leave and reload a few times to get the ones you want.

-Leveling Up Friendship in the Mentor Program
Many things level up the friendship bar. Using the skills they give you. Fighting along side them. Beating PQ missions. The best method is to play Offline PQs with the two AI slots set to your mentor. Play low level missions.

-Time Crystals and Unlocking More Sagas
After beating Story Mode you will probably notice there is still some story left to do. You will obtain a Time Crystal (two I believe, one from the final boss and one from a man in the Plaza of Time) which are used to unlock a hidden saga dealing with Broly and Bardock.

There are a total of five crystals required.

- Time Crystal 3
This can be obtained in PQ 49.

- Time Crystal 4
This can be obtained in PQ 14, 18, and 42.

- Time Crystal 5
This can be obtained in PQ 02, 21, and 32.

I believe all of them are possible drops from the Ultimate Finish of the PQ. After obtaining them, head back into the Plaza of Time and go talk to Trunks as you would with normal story missions. You can then continue.

-Getting Dragon Balls!
I almost forgot about this but Dragon Balls (not the ones in the PQ missions) are obtained by beating Patrollers that randomly appear in PQs. In general the easiest way to farm these are by playing PQ 12 "Fierce Battle! Ginyu Force". In the starting area there is a Patroller that sometimes spawns right in front of you a couple feet ahead. If he isn't there, restart the mission. If he is, fight him. When you beat him it will either say Material or Key Item obtained. If you only get Materials restart. If you get a Key Item (that's a Dragon Ball) finish the mission.

-Unlocking More PQ Missions
Last but not least is how to unlock PQ Missions. 80% of them will be unlocked via Story. Beating a Saga usually unlocks the PQ missions linked to that Saga. So completing the story 100% (even the Bardock and Broly stuff) will unlock most of them. For the last few missions, you simply have to do one of two things.

- Beat the missions before it. For example I believe beating PQ 36 will unlock 37 and 38.

- Look around town for characters (main story characters like Gohan and such) with Quest marks over their head. Talking to them will bring up a mission screen. You will have to tackle this mission alone, I believe. Once you have completed it though, it gets added to the PQ quest list.
