Different basic attacks?
So I bought this recently and started as a saiyan because why not, but I hate how slow all all the attacks feel. Is this normal for saiyans, and is there any way to change the attacks to a moveset that doesn't feel like molasses?

You'll learn new moves along the way that you can equip to your character. There are quick melee moves and ki blast moves and utility moves (instant transmission etc).

I know about the special moves, I'm talking about the basic attack moves.

Once you go Super Saiyajin you should be faster.

So that's a "No" then.

Afraid so then.

Every race/gender has their own attack animations with varying strength/speed.

There is no way to pick a different set up animations for your Saiyan, that's how he punches/kicks and you can't change it :P

Just deleted my old character and made a freiza clansman, since I assumed they'd be faster.
Attacks still felt like molasses.
Tried a solo match against npcs with regular characters.
Molasses.
This whole game is molasses.

Human male has some of the fastest basic attack strings for created characters, try that. If that's too slow for you get a refund, since all of the story mode is done as your created character. If ALL of the roster characters feel slow, (Goku is among the faster attacking ones) then definitely get a refund.

I intend to try all the races until I find one that doesn't feel as slow as forcing out a particularly tricky s***. I havn't progressed very far in the story, so if I need to I'll just grind back to the level I was, since it seems like that's what at least 50% of this game is anyway.

Ok. I personally feel that of the created characters, male human is the fastest, and of the roster characters, Goku is among the fastest there. Everything else will feel slow after those two in my opinion. I would have loved to be able to change stance and basic attacks on my created characters but sadly it's not the case.

Have you tried messing with your settings? Just an idle thought

Sounds to me like you might be having FPS problems.

Not in the slightest. My computer runs the game itself very smoothly with no lag at all. Most if not all of the attacks themselves are as slow as steam's customer support.

Ugh so no one bothered to say the obvious on here. It all depends on how tall you make your character. If you've been making them super tall they won't hit that fast the shorter the faster but youll have less health if your short.

That's not really obvious. It never says it in the game, and from when I was looking up the race differences there was no mention of hight being a factor at all.
