Unlock Potential is great, but not as cool looking? aka no shine

This may sound odd, but we need to address this now so it doesn't port to other projects like XenoVerse 2. They need to acknowledge this and fix it now or this will repeat again and again. We should have the same style of cool transformation look too.


Well first of all i enjoy the new transformation. The way to obtain/learn it, is very creative for a change. It's just something that transformation should be, and not about spamming ultimates at everything that breathes. And it looks so cool when surrounded by white aura of awesome, but i was little disappointed when i noticed a little lack of non-shine/sheen that Super Saiyan/Vegeta transformations have.


I did try other clothes and compare to normal mode and while being transformed, but no difference other than little more light while tranformation on. Kinda makes think this is Kaioken in white and a ultimate move. And even kaioken had shine when goku used it, and it's just a super! Kaioken atleast has a reason not to be as epic since it's a powerboost for a moment and not for long there anyway, but even then it's stretching a lot! But this one is ultimate move, something that is a good while on play, even longer than Super Saiyan.


I know, sounding like i'm nitpicking on tiny detail but it's something that added well to the transformation. Really added to the epic, and made it look like you have transformed to something else. Super Saiyan for examble, looks like a golden warrior. Imagine it didn't have that shine but instead yellow texture over it, it would look like any regular character with blond hair and greenish-blue eyes.

Really looks different don't they? Really makes you look like a badass


I just hate to think that they did this transformation, but didn't add the shine because it was easier to have a white texture put over on your character just like red one on kaioken x 1-20 and called it a day. Now imagine if something were to happen to Super Saiyan's shine, glitch out somehow (by an update for examble), epic would be gone from it and all saiyan race users would be angry about this and might even say every of that race user would complain. Makers would be pretty much forced to fix this to keep the fans happy. But the other race users would not mind/care since they do not have that power to go super. But now we have it, yet no shine like Super Saiyans, just more lighter to go with the aura. that really disappoints me and possible many more...


It seems odd to not have it on this version of Potential Unlock, since Gohan's Potential Unleashed has that and that's a recolor of Super Saiyan and still different looking, so it wouldn't be out of the question to have it on this version of the transformation. They could even use the same shine from Gohan's transformation, fix it to go with other races and bam there you go, problem solved. like Super Saiyan looks the same as Super Vegeta.


And honestly, i think we all thought we were gonna get Gohan's same transformation since Elder Kai was told to be a mentor, but they took us by suprise and gave something quite creative instead.


And it seems they have to revisit this one anyway, since Unlock Potential is somewhat broken on earthlings. I obtained it, transformed, and it never goes down after that, and it's supposed to ran out. That's a bit unfair in my opinion.

Not really. Any race can have it on indefinitely as long as they use the new Frieza Z-soul.

The reason why it does not have the shine effect from the SS transforms is because the files for shine effect files do not exist in non saiyans. See, this game uses a different approach to show character textures. Instead of your normal picture that wraps around the model, the game uses a color file. There IS a texture, but works differently. So this color file is a bunch of colored lines with instructions to tell the game what color to show and it's different shades. The shine file is a different set of colors and with slightly different instructions on how to show the color. Models for saiyans and humans(the game uses the same model files for both) have this extra shine file. Other races do not. Sure, it could have been easy to add them as they are not that hard to make nor use too much space. A few kilobytes at most. But for reasons we don't know but many may chalk to laziness, these were not added.

how did you get past the last elder quest? i was stock on a screen when both my character and kai were sitting on ground. i was noticed to press jump after 1 min but it doesnt work. Do you know how to fix it? Help!!!

I already took this bug to reddit, other than trying to find yourself a controller I think we're SOL for now until they fix it.

I already sent a text to my ex-gf trying to get ahold of my old 360 controllers LOL :P

Okay to have that one out of the way, you can't stand up with the keyboard for some reason, but with a controller only. I have no idea why it's this way, but that was only way to do it with my character.

I agree with your criticisms, I wish it had the extra shine/cool look. Also I really wish this transformation specifically changed your character's stance - Gohan, for example has his arms down and stands tall. That's pretty damn badass instead of the fighter stance, shows how much more powerful/confident he is. Might have to mod a stance on transformation since I highly doubt Dimps would give enough ♥♥♥♥♥ to add that sweet thing.

I disagree on it being OP, even on humans. You don't have unlimited ki and they simply don't regen as much as usual, a fair tradeoff.
