Take your time, jump backwards, push them back one at a time.
I can't imagine myself trying to beat these fights with a non saiyan melee character. It's possible but I'll learn that on my 2nd character when I have more skills to choose from.
This game is trickier than it first appears. The system offers a lot of options, I just wish there were some place I could test skills and swap them in and out without having to go through several loading screens just to try out one skill. Should probably look up what each of them do online. Must be a Wiki somewhere, or a Steam guide come to think of it.
Yeah, it is probably one of the lamest strategies in the game but i can´t stress enough how much of a chore it is to have only one charslot until you finished the campaign... had to get it over with.
And i am totally with you on that training-place you were talking about. Why even put in that stupid town if you can´t do anything in it? Seriously, after 10+hours I am at a loss of words about this design-choice. Why can´t I even use skills in the town? Whats the damn point?
The only advice I can give you, is to start steam in offline mode or block the game through your firewall, so it can´t connect to the servers. You won´t be able to play online but its worth it if you have something mindnumbing to do (testing skills, grinding pq).
What I will say is this - the DBX AI is ridiculously aggressive... Because it's allowed to cheat. All the Super Sayans seem to have permanent block enabled so they don't have to guard. Even if they do get hit, they tend to just spam "escape" skills. What this means is the AI is free to essentially "button mash" away at me constantly. Bizarrely, I'm tough enough by this point that they don't deal THAT much damage to me, but they nevertheless manage to interrupt me constantly, and stun-lock me constantly, and aggravate me constantly.
Seriously, this game's controls are NOT good for fighting multiple enemies. Tabbing to whatever's currently punching me in the back is a chore, since tab-targeting often picks a random enemy in the distance while SSJ Gohan is punching my non-existing kidneys. Maybe have the Block skill block towards the closest enemy in melee range? Maybe have the block cancel move work even if I'm not targeting the enemy whom I'm trying to block? Maybe get rid of target lock entirely and give me free mouse control of the camera, to attack whoever's closest to my centre-screen?
Let's just say that group fights seem doable at the moment, but they are not even remotely fun. One-on-one fights, by contrast, are amazingly cool. I still remember my epic fight with Vegeta for his final Master mission. DAMN that guy's tough. Tougher than Cell by a country mile!
It's tough at lower levels, but you will eventually get tougher if you pour your stats in the right area
the controls are way better, i beg to differ that mod hasn't been updates in ages...you should have at least suggested ESF :3
I didn´t know about esf. Only now took a look at youtube and it looks very similar to bid for power. looks good.
