Cell got blown up by Gohan's kamehameha and he regenerated from that because his head was still there. I think he can only regenate from the black part of head.

well he did regen from his bottom half when goku did the Instant Transmission Kamehameha on him and if he got cut in half he would just regen only 1 since it would prob cut his power in half like piccolo

I assume Cell can only regenerate from his core which is located in his head, but he regenerated from Goku's Instant Transmission Kamehameha, then SSJ2 Gohan's Kamehameha(?) and the last time when Cell blew himself up.

His essence is basicly in every cell in his body, So if you dont wipe him out completely (like that last massive Kamehameha from Gohan SSJ2 did) he can regenerate always.

But yea seeing as he posesses Piccolo's cells i guess it would count as a multiform technique if he would make a 2nd Cell if cut in half.

And Piccolo stated that the multiform cuts away a piece of the original power. (just like it did when Cell fought Goku in the Cell games arena and split into 4 Cell's)

Actually, all you have to do is completely wipe out his head, where his Nucleus (core) is.

I believe in 1 episode he actually states that his essence is imprinted in every single cell in his body. So unless you wipe him out completely he can still regenerate from a single cell.

And your statement is kinda incorrect seeing as Goku did blow off his head along with his entire upperbody with that Instant Transmission Kamehameha when he fought him in the arena.

Even when he blew himself up on King Kai's planet still 1 cell remained so he regenerated.
It was only when Gohan used that ultimate Kamehameha that he totally dissolved.

In other words, when Toriyama made Cell say that after becoming Super Perfect, he somehow forgot about something he himself drew a few weeks beforehand.

Eh. Cell has no core.

His upper body got blown clean up.

Whemn he exploded, a part large enoguh (and stil ljuiced with enough nergy) to regenerate remained. So he came back from that.


As for being cut i nhalf: One part would either be reabsorbed or draiend of power and abandoned.

Cell is a self centered prick. He woudl not let 2 oh himself walk around, let alone produce another willingly.
