SSJ1 gives you a 5% boost, and 2 gives you a 7% (If I remember correctly).
Super Vegeta does the exact same, but only just for your Ki based attacks. :)
In the original Story, the only difference from SSJ1 and 2, was your strenght.
SSJ2 made you faster too, and so on with SSJ3.
You are talking about the bulked up form, which Vegeta, Trunks and Goku could use.
That only increased your srenght, but lowered your speed due to your muscles buulking up. ;)
Well, it all depends on what you want to be, a meele user gains from SSJ1 and 2, but nothing from S-Vegeta 1 or 2.
All forms of Super Saiyan make Ki consuming moves Free.
Super Saiyan grants +2% Strike damage, +1% Ki damage, -10% Damage taken.
Super Vegeta is instead +1% Strike Damage, +3% Ki Damage, -10% Ki Damage Taken.
Both grant +10% Speed to all forms of movement, as well as Dash distance.
The second versions are instead +5% to their main damage type, +2% to the other, and +15% to Speed and Dash distance, but the forms also drain Ki faster.
Thus, for players, Super Saiyan/Vegeta are superior to their second forms. The extra damage is minor, and the free Ki moves, mobility boost, and damage reduction are the true benefits, so maintaining it longer is more useful
