Stuck in E4 demo
I'm stuck. Starfather has finished his speech and the audience are watching the highlights reel. Stirring music is playing, the baby and the guards are editied and primed. What next? Do I have to wait a really long time for the hero and Starfather to swing into action? Or is there a specific trigger for getting the ball rolling?

Hey, sorry that you are stuck. When you say that the guards and baby are primed, do they have either starfather or the Demo Hero as an enemy? Do they have the ability to move or attack?

If so, then it sounds like a bug and we'd definitely want more info. Sorry it took a while for me to see this and get back to you.

I am guessing that you made the baby hate guards and vice versa, which we are discussing now, as it probably should work, but we had removed as a trigger condition for various reasons. If that IS the case, we think we have a solution and will try and make it in for the next update. Again sorry for the failure there.

hi rujuro, Yes, I've set both guards and baby up in various configs, thinking that would trigger it. Definitely set the baby up to hate the Demo Hero, Starfather or both, and gave it the power of flight. Set guards to hate the Hero, and ally with the baby.

Happy to provide more info. What would an Early Access game be without some showstopper bugs, eh?

No worries on timeliness, I'm in Australia, so completely out of time sync with you guys. Don't expect speedy replies from me, either. :)

FWIW, HUGELY enjoying this game, but as an unashamed Thief fanboy and TTLGer, that's perhaps to be expected. As an SS1 veteran, the Limina with its John Carpenter soundtrack brought a huge smile to my face.

Very happy to hear you are enjoying the game. Did you happen to give the baby a means of attack? That is key to getting things going. Also the guards need a way to attack to set things in motion if you make them hate the hero. Aside from that it seems like everything is properly set to trigger.



We are expanding the trigger conditions for the next update, but let me know if the attack thing was the issue. Thanks! Sorry this took a while, was having some weird network issues.

Thanks, rujuro. It's difficult for me to say now exactly what conditions I tried, but I gave the baby kind of wussy attacks like "repulsor", that may have been the problem. Or I may have set the guards to hate the hero, but not given the baby an attack? Anyway, problem solved.

Ah, thanks for that info, we are going to see if we can properly support repulsor as a start condition. We think with some tweaks it can work. Sitting there with nothing happening is really the outcome we want to avoid most, cause that just plain sucks.
