I stripped the pads as I went through, and used them/their ability for the rest of the game, then came back afterwards to try to 100%. I ended up using the pads as my flying machines (seems like most people used the turtles) for most of the game, so they've seen a fair amount of action.
Now with one TP disabled (one "teleport other" in my inventory) and the other TP set to it's default state, as far as I know, and even placed in the teleporter bay area (which I'm assuming shouldn't make any difference) they still won't connect to the one in the Tractor Bay.
Should this be possible after completing the game? The only thing I've done to the Tractor Bay is zoom in on the sign to see the words "Tractor Bay", I don't think I've disturbed anything in there otherwise.
So basically, if I disable one of the teleporters in any way, the remaining one will not connect to anything else. Seems like I've broken sometthing?
Fantastic game BTW - most creative experience since Antichamber. You guys have done a fantastic job, can't wait for the e5 demo.
That would be very clever, but I would hope for an achievement involving a definitely dead cat.
If that situation is still the case, would you be willing to share your save file?
on PC, it is located at
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\Question\The Magic Circle\<steamnumber>
See if I've done anything silly:

Thanks for being so active in the Steam forums, it's a nice change!
is scottywat.zip the file?
I see nothing else there
If (on a clean start) you use the first teleporter, then ***immediately*** realize that "Hey, I bet if I summon the first teleporter to me, strip off the "Teleport Other" function, then this teleporter will go somewhere else" you never acually discover the crack that is being referred to, and you can't get back to the area.
Yes, this happened to me -- I can obviously get to the teleport bay, and I can get to the end point of the original teleport chain, but I can't get to whatever sits in the middle. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be anything particuarlly vital in that middle area, as I had no difficutly completing the game.
I'm not sure if this would be considered a bug or a case of user error, frankly. :)
Yeah, we definitely do not want the player to get to a game state that can't be recovered from.
In any case, looking at your save file would still be really useful if we can get it. Thanks
Also it is possible to glitch through the wall into the tractor bay (only on its far side, side farthes from teleporter and the other bay) But flying in there is hard because if you fly a bit too low you hit the bottom kill collider.
It's a .7z not a .zip, I've renamed it now.
Even if I had been in there to ninja the 'teleport other' ability and forgotten, that would have required an edit so I should be able to summon the third pad, right?
