We decided that we were too small a team to do everything, and we chose to support as much player choice in the mechanics as possible, but we couldn't afford the time or money to do multiple endings justice and make them all satisfying.
It was a hard choice, but we also felt that it is often the case that one ending is better than the others, and we didn't want that outcome either. I hope that doesn't turn you off the game, but if so I understand.
