Are you limited to what weapons you can use?

Can a single player equip a sword and a bow n' arrow at the same time, or are are you limited by class?

Class limited, each class uses a single weapon type.

Warrior: Dual swords
Lancer: Lance and shield
Berserker: Greataxe
Slayer: Greatsword
Archer: Bow
Sorcerer: Disk
Mystic: Rod
Priest: Staff
Reaper: Scythe...things...I don't know what they're called, sorry.
Gunner: Gun/cannon thing.

I wouldn't think of it as being "limited". The weapon strongly defines the class in TERA.

yeah very lame, I nearly fell from my chair when my warrior didnt get to pick 2 one handers to use but a set of weapons, so much for costumizationg and mixing bonusses etc sigh

The majority of the game is less about levels or equipment, and more about player skill. Having too much variety in equipment can lead to the game becoming heavily focused on equipment alone. It's bad enough that Avatar weapons have turned levels 18-60 into easy mode.
