Maybe download those files and put it in the launcher? I don't have this issue atm, but maybe this works?
I may have found the problem (or better; a potential solution)!
I have reinstalled the game about 3 times, and I've tried many different things. The only thing I did different now, that makes it seem to work, is I installed it on my C drive, instead of my D partition.
The launcher may be broken in the way that you need to install the game on the same partition as the AppData folder is located (which is in C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Appdata\Local\TERA).
This worked for me as far as the "Calculating blah 0%" error is concerned.
This fixed it for me. Don't like that I have to put this big fat game on my C drive >:(
- Reinstalling the game.
- Clearing out the AppData folder (it never had anything in it)
- Deleting Live2-Launcher, Live-New-Launcher, and EN.version
- Opening the launcher from the folder instead of through steam
- Running launcher as administrator
i also did:
- close all antivirusses (worked in the non steam version/eu) now doesnt work on either versions
- run it through cmd to tera-launcher .exe
- made sure the folder was read only OFF
- Tera is installed on my c:drive by default
So with installing it on your c: drive, does that mean: c:\Tera folder or can you install it deeper into the c: drive? : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\TERA for example??
i'm kinda desperate here and want to make Tera my new main mmo to go to (after 8 years of good wow times)
I made a folder in C:\ called TERA. I then went to install TERA via Steam and chose C:\TERA as my install directory. That's ALL I changed, nothing more, nothing less.
What steam then automatically did was add a steam.dll file and steamapps folder. Basically the same as any other Steam-games directory, but with just TERA in it. Hope this helps!
Also iv seen some post about file replacement and adding to make it work, but i need; C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Local\TERA\launcher for that .... i dont even have a folder that is called AppData ..... sigh
update:
I copied the TERA folder to c:\ but i have the same issue 'calculating time remaning' (note: i launched it from the file itself not via steam since i dont know how to chance the path)
