potential virus when installing tera?
Umm...not too sure if its only me who had this.

But when installing tera, my antivirus blocks part of it due to it being a virus

just wanting to see if anyone else had this issue aswell

I haven't had the issue myself, but I heard others have. Try putting the tera installer/launcher on your antivirus's allowed applications.
Yes, this happened to me too and I don't remember exactly what the virus was. I didnt realize it was from the TERA download so I let AVG remove it. Now I can't open TERA... It opened the launcher once but when I'd press play it would give me an error. Now it says it needs to update but when I let it update it's giving me a disk write error...... So, I guess I will redownload this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game and tell AVG to stfu and let me download my game -.- ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Annoying Indeed.

Can't you just verify the integrity of the game cache through steam?

Why I no longer use AVG. Once they released AVG 6 way back when whenever I installed a game it would ding it as a virus.

I tried that, it didnt work. I uninstalled the game just now and now it's not letting me redownload it, it says there's not enough space on my harddrive even though there is. -........- Gonna check for disk errors I guess :/

yea im using avg, but yea! its downloading now i put an exception in. Had to remove it from the virus vault to get it to reinstall though.

for those with avg still having issues
Is this the "virus" you guys are getting notified about aswell? Win32/Heur

I did a disk error check and now it's letting me redownload. So, in 26316538215387 hours I'll be able to see if I can play this game finally. :D

Hey all,

AVG and several other antivirus programs have been giving out false positives to some players recently. If you downloaded through Steam or the official TERA website you have a safe file though it never hurts to be cautious when it comes to computer viruses.

You can review the steps to address whitelisting the TERA.exe on our forums: {LINK REMOVED}

Hopefully this will help!
^^ Thanks Harmonia. Hopefully it will download correctly this time so I can move on to the other 12361386137 errors people are getting when trying to launch TERA through steam. hehe ^.^ :ss2heart:

I disable avg for 10 minutes before each time I start Tera. I have a few other securities so not worried for that 10 minutes and it works.

I did have to do a repair to get that file error fixed though, if anyone is getting it too.

The file is EMEDiag, and despite changing the security for it numerous times, I cannot delete/replace that file! I have even tried super admin... any help?
