TERA

TERA

Setting the NA Client to EU?
So, the Steam version is NA only, as it seems.

That would be fine, because the ping is no issues what so ever.
However, and I'm probably not the only one, EU players still have their accounts and characters on the EU servers.

Is there a way to set the Steam launcher of the game to the EU servers, so that we don't have to re-download it over the stupid Gameforge launcher...?

There is no way to do that, EU and NA characters and game accounts are completely seperated. You can not transfer characters, accounts, or even set the launcher to some imaginary EU server. Because there is none, the versions are not compatible whats-o-ever.

I already pooped my pants a little seeing I had only one 15 level character ingame, but figured it was the wrong server.

Srsly need the EU version on Steam also.

Hmm

I have a founders account on EU also but EU players have a much harder to level game because they have no were near as much as we do on US version. Your better off just making a new account with US, and download the US version separately. On US founders you get a whole lot more then you do on EU, you also get more as a normal player then you do on EU. I got a lot of EU players to join US last year. A few of which I gave some of my extra Founder keys too. If you guys need help with quests, dungeons, etc just ask I don't mind helping you if your new to the US version of the game. As everyone has said accounts to do sink up between the two, they are completely separate from each other. I can almost guarantee though that once you play on US you will leave EU. The only thing I liked about EU are the players are more friendly & support was very quick to reply & answer my questions unlike with US they just tell you to go to the forums. The paid membership on US gives much more, the founders give much more, and you have a lot better boosts in the US version then EU. So bring all your friends! I dont mind helping when I play, and I mostly only play Elite.

Despite them having the same name, TERA EU and TERA US may as well be different games. Two seperate games companies Gameforge and En Masse purchased the right to publish TERA from korean bluehole studios in their respective locals. Consider them as different as Aion and World of Warcraft, despite the name.

This version on steam is from en masse, aka US only.

Yeah, this ^

I really am having a hard time to NOT go into a fullblown anti-murican RAGE about this kind of pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...

Did they really not care AT ALL about EU players?
Not even enough to give us even a HINT about this NOT being EU servers?

From what I've been reading here the last 30 mins, thought, it seems like we are better of just playing this version of the game ANYWAY...
TacticalGoose May 6, 2015 @ 9:57am
En Masse has nothing to do with EU Tera. As in literally nothing. Zero, de nada. Why should they care?

If you're a vet you know how EU TERA is run (more or less) by Gameforge, and if you are new, you can enjoy the better TERA run by En Masse from sratch.

I still don't see what the outrage is all about.

The outrage is that they have been teasing about a game, coming to a WORLDWIDE platform (Steam might be a US based company, but it damned sure isn't just big in USA... It's the back-bone of all digital gaming today, and that's not really just my opinion), without even telling people that it's only offering NA support.

It seems like you are right about en masse's version being superior, and that people seem to be able to play there well even from EU, but that really isn't what we were expecting after waiting such a long time...

It's rude, really. Just plain rude to automatically ASSUME that EVERY gamer on steam is from USA... Like what the hell..?
I hate mixing gaming and politics but it's this selfish attitude that turns America into MURRICA in people's ears.

What on earth are you raving about?

GameForge doesn't give a rats ass about you. They COULD have made the game available from Steam, but decided not to since that'd cut into their POTENTIAL profits. Go blame GameForge, MURRICA has nothing to do with this.

PS. Don't bother playing EU TERA. GameForge has entirely butchered the game.

Since GameForge really ruined the EU version, I'm pretty interested now in playing the US version after the things you said, but still bummed that I can't get back my old characters... However... I don't see any restrictions with character slots on the US version? Without the founders pack you only got 2 Slots per server in the EU version, which is too less for me.
Will my US account be upgraded when I pay for one month like "Thanks that you invested money into the game, here are your permanent bonuses!"
