As a beginner, what item to keep/sell/npc?
So much stuff clogging up inventory space.. Charms, crystals, recipes, scrolls, crafting mats, hides, flowers, essences, ores.....

Look at the crystals and choose some that would work for you, sell the others (especially before level 65). Use the recipes if you can, sell them if you can't, you'll get more, and at worse you can buy them if you need them. Keep the crafting mats if you intend to craft, put them in the broker if not.
I don't know how accurate the report is, and it probably changes within 8 hrs (different sets of players getting online), but when you mouse-over some items, it will tell you what the average broker price is.

That's supposedly the price that other people have paid for that item. I know that during one inspection, it looks like a good item to keep and sell. But 8-12 hours later, the price has changed, usually because of same items getting flooded on broker house.

You'll start to get a feel for what is good and not, as well as your tolerance level for items or not. For example, Poison gems don't seem too popular, or there are too many of them and people begin undercutting each other severely, so the price is low at broker house. For that, I just sell them to vendors.

But gems that help keep aggro, even 1 or 2% at low levels, sells pretty decently.

Again, it may be different on your server or time of day, so just use that tool tip to help you.

I have been using broker house for the last few days using that tool tip to help, and while I started by selling item at 20 silver or 50 silver, I am now at items that sell for 1-4g and so the ones 30-50 silver are becoming the vendor trash items.

That's only until I can get more bank or broker space, of course. Since I'm pretty patient on broker items, given enough space, I could wait a bit on items that may change in price.

You can also search for the items at the broker house.

If you don't plan on crafting now, and are limited in space, crafting materials can bring in good money.

I bought up the basic crafting recipes to see what is needed, and the amount of stuff to collect is just not feasible for me at this time with my limited space, low funds, and desire to level up more/explore more. Not to mention that even without any questing, I might be spending hours farming for the T-E-R-A letters event.

Okay, this is where the game gets a bit tricky, especially if you only have the default 1 tab of Bank storage.

Basically what you want to do is convert any unusable or under-powered items like armor and weapons into feedstock and build up a stash of that, since you'll need it as you go to upgrade weapons and armor. Same thing with Alkahests, build up a stock. Store both of these in your Bank and only take them out when you need them.

With materials, if you're not going to focus on crafting right now, then sell them on the broker for some quick gold. Mats from low level areas often fetch higher prices since people at endgame can;t often be bothered to go farm for them when the start leveling a crafting branch. Same goes for recipies.

As for crystals, only keep the ones you need, sell the rest. I'd suggest selling them at a normal merchant since the broker prices vary and sometimes it's not worth the wait.

For things like campfires, charms, scrolls and potions, keep a limited number and use them whenever you can. They drop so often that hording them is pointless, and keeping the ones that are too far below you in level requirement to be effective is not worth the lost space. Sell what you can and keep around 10-20 charms, maybe 20 or so each of the Safe Haven and Resurection scrolls, around 20 campfires and 30-60 potions (HP/MP) when possible.
Good advice in here, thanks
Thanks :)

Keep em if you plan on crafting, sell em on the broker if you don't.
