Is the Steam version of TERA better than the client version?
Hello!

I played TERA outside of Steam and my system has the recommended requirements (even more) but the game crashes very often...even on minimum graphic settings.

So has the Steam version a better (stable) performance? Did someone has a comparison?

Thanks for every help :)

Yes the steam launcher is better than the client or than the gameforge one so i suggest the steam one

The client is no different whether or not you use steam. The only thing that changes is the launcher (which is pretty much the same other than steam auto log-in).

So the ingame performance is also better?

And has the Steam version other updates (and content) as the client version?

The only difference is how the launcher works. 0 client difference.

There is absolutely no peformance difference between the standalone client and the Steam version as they both use the EXACT same game files. You can even copy the standalone folder from the client to the Steam folder so you don't have to redownload the entire 30GB.

Even if you have the Steam version you can still launch the standalone launcher from the game directory without steam running.

The Steam version just launches the TERA launcher, it's not a separate Steam one.

This launcher is the worst of it's kind, weather is with steam or not.
Never played a game with such horrible client.

I've been playing TERA since 2012 and haven't experience anything "horrible" about it.

But I have, and my opinion is based on that.

When you log into your Enmasse accout on their website, you can link your Tera account to your Steam account so you can auto-log in.

Other then that, it's just launched through steam or not launched through steam. No difference in actual gameplay other then having the Steam Overlay in game.
