... naming the character?

Is there some secret to naming the character? I've spent days trying different names with no luck... so why should I even try this game?

Try to pick a unique name. Don't use typical names such as Dave or Barry, chances are someone already has it. Also, you can have a forename and surname, just separate them with a period.

Plus, there are thousands of players who have joined over the years. Think of the amount of names in the game.

Yeah, you're right... it's just frustrating because I've tried every stupid name that I can think of... still no luck.

Try akmqrk and it will look like akmark in game

When I struggle to pick names, I usually go to the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages and search through the various races for cool sounding names.

You could try to use a random name generator or something, if that doesn't help.

Thank for the advice, but it shouldn't be this difficlt to name a character. I tried xyz.xyz, xyzxyz, xyz ... etc. and still no luck.

The problem there is, you're using three common letters next to one another. XYZ is just the last three letters of the alphabet. Guaranteed to have been thought of before. Outside of the box is where you need to be thinking lol.

I know it's hard to be original, especially with MMORPG names but sometimes it just takes a while to nail one. I've spent 20-30 minutes searching for a name before (not in TERA, mind you).

use dots between words to name your characters, is too hard to fail with it.

Go to google translate, pick a language, and translate some words from english. thats what i do when i cant think of actual names.

try giving your character a full first and last name separated by only a period. Many single names are taken but if you turn it into a full one many are available

You can double the letters. I wanted Maya, I picked Maayyaa.

I haven't had problems naming my characters, but then again I don't name my characters generic animu names.

Try using scientific names of plants and animals, or bacteria, etc. those usually works.

i get my 3 names at first try all of them :). and they aren't very rare names.

If you're not smart enough to get names to work in an mmo you shouldn't try the game spare us all.
