Help with Naming a Character

So I created a character, and now I'm trying to give her a name. Somehow every single ♥♥♥♥ing name I choose has already been taken! How the hell does that even work?! I tried names like Esmerelda, Elantra, Valentine, Natalia, etc. (to name a few) I don't understand; could someone tell me what I'm supposedly doing wrong?

Believe it's perfectly normal. Names go by server though so on the more popular A LOT of names will be taken. Most of those you tried are pretty popular names plus they recently released names that had been stagnant for a year to be used again so new people have taken them to sell them...yes people sell and trade popular names. Unfortunately you have to get very original.
Try like fantasynamesgenerators [fantasynamegenerators.com] or a similar site and choose a name type you think would fit your character.

I'm having your issue more because I'm very picky on names. I can't just call myself Wiggle.Lion or something. I need an actual name. So even though I wanna make a new character it's gonna take a while trying to find a name haha

I personally am very fond of using springhole's random nature-themed name generator[www.springhole.net] which has a lot of fancy sounding names that usually aren't taken (besides the more well-known flowers or trees). I've gotten Halesia and Ametrine from this generator haha. The site has a lot more name generators as well, so if you'd like more options, springhole is pretty good for that. :)

Not just single word.. use multiple words. You can separate words with "." like most characters does in game. For example.. John.Doe, Jane.Smith etc.

Name sellers. You can also always change 1 letter of those names for use them, like Valent1ne

Or you could insert a period somewhere in the name you prefer, but yeah, common names like the OP listed are going to be taken, you're going to have to do variations or usual names.

If you watch animie pick a character and think of a name similar to that

I'd avoid using name from popular anime/movie/manga/cartoon or whatever media you can find. Name from them are likely used by many others.

Really typical for names like that to be taken. This isn't a new game lol.

It'd be like expecting to be able to roll a char named Sasuke. It's not gonna happen unless you started the game from its inception.

I suggest you think of traits of a character you like, take the words, translate them to a language you like the sound of and mash the phrase together.
