Tera, DirectX12 and Windows 10

so i'm having big issues with even starting tera, my sg1 files in the config folder disappears and I can't start because apparently I have DirectX12 installed...

So if anyone around knows a solution for this.. I would be very happy! Thank you.

update your graphic card driver for windows 10 compatibility.
or just uninstall all your graphic card driver using display driver unistaller, then install back all graphic driver with windows 10 compatibility.

*this is just a recommendation, i dont know what error your encounter..but i had tried this.

@cynczy it is the ffff:ffff error, and when I checked of my computer could run tera it said couldn't run it with directx 12. I use Windows defender.

@dexisha I tried doing this and I restarted it. And now it is stuck with a black screen and the the 'working' cursor.... ><

I wonder how this came to be, I mean almost no games even use directx 12. Did you install it? Or have you just randomly downloaded updates?

u can either:
1. exclude Tera folder from scan by Windows Defender.
2. run it with compatibility mode and admin.
3. reinstall Tera and repatch.
4. this is my method the other day:
i. reinstall Tera and repatch
ii. fresh install all graphic driver with win 10 compatibility

mine get FAIL status too on direct x requirement, but Tera can run.

My boyfriend just got a windows 10 pc and he can't launch tera either..he's tired a ton of fixes and he still gets that FFF error..oddly with my windows 7 i get that randomly as well..i honestly think the problem is game-side

Well for what I see its semi-game side, it probbably is something between your GPU and the game. I'm not shure how you should fix it, maybe file a ticket and they could fix the problem between the 2 maybe.
Or just experiment with settings and drivers.

I did some research and found this game only supports direct x 9, download that maybe. Because if your pc does not have it, tera has no directx at all. Thats probably the error. Would explain why it occurs on newer pc's.

The game engine that Tera runs on is limited to Direct X 9. If you do not have the correct version the game will NOT run properly.

Im running the Tera.exe in WinXp compatibility mode, seems to be running better. Im on Windows 10 and have a i5 6600k and GTX970.

Thank you all for the help, I found something that worked for me. It was the graphics driver that was messing up everything, so all I did was delete the one I was using a ' display driver unistaller' and then I downloaded an older version of Nvida, that was compadible with windows 7/8 i think and now it runs smoothly again. :D Thank you all for the help :D
