TERA

TERA

Game takes ages to open
I click the play button and have to wait quite a long time to get into the game, so long I thought the first time it was never going to open.

Any idea why?

I would say a slow PC.
My PC is quite alright and Tera opens in about 5 seconds, what specs do you have?

Enough specs to run the game on full settings and thansome. I can play Fallout 4 on medium settings, I don't think it is the PC.

It's similar for me. I can play anything and everything at ultra settings and smooth 60 fps, yet Tera takes almost 2 minutes to get going.

Any other game would take mere seconds.

same....my computer is great.
be paitient
I had this problem, fixed it by excluding the Tera launcher exe and the Tera folder in Steam from Windows Defender. It has to be some sort of anti virus/maleware catch as now my game loads normally. Only happened over last patch too.

Thanks for the solution.

It takes less than 3 seconds for my game to load and go to character select screen, its on my SSD though. xD

You need more ram. Also play on fullscreen. Windowed mode take a lot longer to load up. Tera loads up in an instant for me even though I have it on my hdd.

I'm able to run FO4 on high specs without issue, yet whenever I hit "play", the launcher loads up, but the progress bar is set at 0% for a good while. Closing it and restarting it isn't guaranteed to fix the problem. Not sure if this is the same issue OP was/is having.

my pc is pretty beefy and it does the same for me. Its probably the way steam has to relay data to the enmasse servers. 9/10 times its a steam issue.
