What went wrong with the game?
Hello there! I had about a 4 year break from the game. I was a very casual player, who played the game for fun with some friends. I've returned to the game some days ago and my experience is horrible.
With my main character( what i started back then) i enjoyed playing. It's lvl 54-ish, and took us weeks to get to that level. Yesterday i started a new character and.............I reached level 30 in 4 hours......WTH.
What is this accelerated levelling process?!
What's up with the loot system? Seems like every 2nd enemy drop the corresponding level instance dungeon loot. Looting good quality items lost all of it's joy......WHY?!
What happened to the dungeons difficulty? Back then we were struggling on the suggested level dungeons with the normal tank+heal+3dps setup. Now the dungeon finder matches us in 3 dps teams, without hean and tank.......and we can rush the dungeons.....again....WHY?!
In this current state of the game, the leveling stage of the game is just DISAPPOINtinG and NOT FUN.

(Dunno if there's any difference between the steam and the gameforge version of the game, im using the latter)

When did this happen? Or is something wrong with me?

I actually thought the 3man dungeons was a good change. I didn't have to wait so long for a group and the bosses were weaker making it possible to complete with any group.
I thought this post was initially going to be about something much different just by reading the title alone. I was under the impression that you were about to start a discussion about why most of the dedicated player base decided to leave, why PvP has pretty muchly been gutted out entirely, and how p2w the game has (arguable) always been and refuses to change.

Yes, some of the early dungeons are too easy and loot is basically just handed to you. But at the opposite end of the spectrum once you hit level 65 and obtain your mid-tier gear, getting to the next set is neigh impossible. You either have to join a zerg guild or basically pay copious amounts of money to get the gear and +15 it.

From there on out, the dungeons aren't even really about skill at all, but rather how well geared you are in general. I honestly don't know how Tera has lasted as long as it has, and I swear it wasn't always like this. It used to be a lot better back in the day before a lot of the core features were gutted. I log on every now and then to chat with old guildmates and the like.

Please remember that not all new players to the game are returning like you. It's pretty silly for you to say the lower level stuff is too easy when you're not even a new player yet only up to level 30. The lower level stuff is much easier now for beginners and end game is now level 70, so no, it's not going to be a cake walk after 65.

Saying the game is too easy when most of us reach level 30 in less than an hour is pretty funny to. You can get to 65 in about 6 hours if you know how to speed through dungeons. However, getting your gear leveled up and reaching level 70 will take you plenty of time. Not to mention the skill it takes for higher level dungeons. Most of the people that complain it's too easy in the beginning end up complaining that it's too hard near the end.

This is for the EnMasse (Steam NA) server and not Gameforge, which is the EU server.

I agree with the poster, this game is way too easy now, have not drank 1 potion in 31 levels, and clear a map, only to get to a dungeon, where easy kills, no drops, till end, and got to casual rings, WTH....most of the boost, makes killing the correct mobs, worthless, cause no xp

for me its the performance and runs horrible on my machine back them i5 760 with a 470gtx and now with i7 4930k 980ti, could have played more. but just simple pve on a empty map at 40s~ it was enough to abandon ship

Levels before 65 are easy, because they are geared to new players.

focus on the loli and female only for new classes killed the game for me, as someone who played a MALE and a CASTANIC at that, basically 3rd class citizens with the treatment.
It's fairly recent, though they seem to have removed one of the more broken systems, that being the Relic Weapons...once you hit around level 15, you'd start getting pieces of a Relic Weapon, which once it was finished, you'd crit on nearly every hit and deal stupid amounts of damage on non-crits...then there was also when the Gunner was released, which made most dungeons strolls in a park if you had one in your group because of the sheer amount of damage they did early on, to the point where tanks were irrelevant.

Terra is getting to be an old game, so they are obviously turning the difficulty slider down for early players to keep them from leaving. a few hundred players cant keep a server going, so giving them easy level help keep more people around longer, and a few more bucks I'm sure into the bank for them.
It's not recommend to going back at this moment..

Progress is too harsh for newbie to stay playing (even with devs trying reducing difficulty of progress - enchanting and drop rate etc.), graphics are crap compare to other games (they should really consider changing to UE4 like other rivals, but stubborn devs never listen..), and nothing new contents have been came out for awful long time (nothing but costumes, at least Elin Valkyrie is coming but who cares now?).

This game is better left forgotten.

If you really need MMO fix, better wait for new games that is expect to coming soon. I've heard Lost Ark is coming soon and Pearl Abyss's new MMO, DokeV and Crimson Desert is looks promising too.
