I found this discussion about this topic: https://steamcommunity.com/app/21130/discussions/0/627456486827509615/
Seems like the game has trouble with oddball resolutions and audio settings.
Do you know the refresh rate and resolution of your monitor?
I'm guessing it's working fine with the TV because those are usually very standard resolutions and refresh rates, and might be having issues with your monitor because they can often be slightly oddball resolutions and refresh rates.
The refresh rate of my monitor is 144Hz and the resolution is 1920 x 1080
What is the program called if you remember?
Hello everyone who have probably been waiting for a solution to fixing the resolution and changing the refresh rate without using an external monitor. I have finally found the application that keso was talking about and I have tested it myself today and it works. The download link is on the following site and instructions on what to do are simple and easy to understand:

Im sure many of you have resorted to using an external monitor, but im sure there are many who have not and have probably already found a way, but for those who havent found a way you can use this link, follow the instructions and finally play the game without an external monitor.

Look up on YouTube how to change the refresh rate of your monitor to 60hz using the Nvidia control panel. That's what fixed ot for me, I don't use a external application anymore to change the refresh rate. Hopefully that helps you.
And no, i cant change my hz in my laptop settings. i only can choose 144 hz
