Frostpunk won't start

bought a game 3 days ago, played couple of times, wanted to play a LOT today, but after some sort of update it won't start, tried C++ update, and some recomended other software, still wont work. what can I do?

Same just doesn't launch today. Was playing before the update.

sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered - if you haven't done it so far, take a look at our support guide (available here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/323190/discussions/1/3211505894147947799/) and try things we have mentioned in there. Should it not help, prepare the ConsoleOutput and send it to us at [e-mail], along with a DxDiag file for your computer. :)

Well I got a similar Issue, the game Starts up, gets to the point where the main menu should be, and then my pc freezes. I did try everything that the support guide suggested, still the same issue.
Update: adding the " -console" command to the start options made the problem disappear it seems it was caused by some animations and/or images that could not be loaded.

I have tried all the "tips" that have been given and no avail I am not able to lunch the game, I have; udated windows, steam, gpu, reinstalled three or more times (lost count) times and verified files right after it installed, auto updates enabled, and steam clould enabled. when I try to lunch it from the steam folder I get "MSVCR120.dII was not found" and I don't know what is required to play this game, like I would really like to but I'm disapointed that this is being so tedious just to lunch the game, not even playing it.

Windows 10
1060 3gb GPU
i7 7700 k CPU
16gb of ram

I understand that I don't have 4gb of vram but that really shouldn't be an issue because I am able to play other games that "require" 4gb or more of vram and play on either low or medium setting and I'll be fine, so really don't understand the issue here

I contacted the developers regarding the issue, and they told me they have no idea why it is not working )))

I just bought the game today and have not been able to play because the game will not open. Says it is preparing to start but nothing happens.

I did this as a developer mentioned in another thread and it worked for me:

"go here (microsoft windows users0

I did it too but frostpunk still is not opening? Have I restart thr PC up for the result? or it should repair with no restart?
