Frostpunk should be turned into mini tv series or movies
The lore is great, the concept is original. I'd binge watch it.

There already is a show based on the same concept, the world freezing over, except they're on a train. It's called Snowpiercer
General Idea Apr 2, 2023 @ 4:33am
The Day After Tomorrow (2004) Film. Directed by Roland Emmerich. With Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Dash Mihok.

Jack Hall, paleoclimatologist, must make a daring trek from Washington, D.C. to New York City to reach his son, trapped in the cross-hairs of a sudden international storm which plunges the planet into a new Ice Age.

Rated 6.4 on Imdb

Snowpiercer however only has the storm as a plot device and is instead about the issues between lower and upper classes.
The Day After Tomorrow is just kinda dumb.

Frostpunk also revolves heavily on issues between lower and upper classes though. So Snowpiercer and Frostpunk are more similar than you make it out to be.

Snowpiercer is just a sequal to Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Chocolate made everybody fat which made them lazy, so they used the planet to an ice age

The point is not about the setting. If that's the case there shouldn't be any movies about World Wars, pirate life, outer space travel etc because it has been done.

It's the lore behind the setting seems ripe for further exploration in other media.

That's quite the simplification on your part. How exactly were you able to come down to that conclusion? The intention behind mentioning Snowpiercer and the Day after Tomorrow was merely to provide you with an alternative or offer you suggestions, in case you weren't aware of them and be interested. Especially since you said the concept is original, but the two titles however predate Frostpunk.

Although most may agree, receiving a Frostpunk film or tv series could be cause for excitement. The reality however remains that while video game to screen adaptions are becoming more frequent, they usually turn out to be major letdowns for number of reasons.
- The most notable ones being:
a) Overall, even given the best circumstances adapting video games to other mediums is difficult. Even when video games provide enough source material.
b) Producers, directors, screenwriters, etc. usually end up misunderstanding the point of the game or they may take too many artistic liberties, which changes the story and theme of the game too drastically. Sometimes, they do it intentionally to cut down the profit that would otherwise go to the copyrights' owner.
c) They may not even be willing to work with video game developers or willing to be supervised by them either.
d) The roles may go to actors who are simply wrong for their parts and the characters may end up unrecognizable.

One of the closest shows I have seen to the 'mood' of this game is "The Terror" about the ships trying to find passage through the Arctic and becoming stranded. A bit more supernatural stuff going on but the general theme is pretty much victorian era in world ending cold.

That's the 1845 Franklin expedition you're referring to. HMS Terror and Erebus were the first in the Royal Navy to use steam-powered engines and propellers. They were also extensively modified to complete a crossing of the Northwest Passage in the Artic. While cold, it wasn't exactly a "world ending cold" temperature. The whole supernatural spin was unnecessary and kind of ruined it for me. The whole crew dying from exposure, starvation (even after resulting to cannibalism) all the while suffering from lead poisoning and botulism, is scary enough as is.

I'd watch that.
If they're smart they're already building a comic series or some sort of visual novel as well as an animated series of some form. Who knows tho. It would be a very large missed opportunity these days where anyone can make things on their own instead of relying on huge companies to allow them to use their product. It really all depends on who owns the rights to the core elements, the name, the game, the story, blah blah. It's always way more complex than it seems even though it seems to be a "no-brainer" to us.
