Frostpunk 1866
I would like to ask the devs, what their vision is with Frostpunk 1866.

Is it gonna be more like Frostpunk 1 with some new features, overhauled graphics but the overall feel, gameplay and village management?

Or are you guys gonna make Frostpunk 1866 more like Frostpunk 2? Big, City, no one cares? xD

The only thing I can tell you is, that if or when 11 bit studios is willing to share what's otherwise considered priviledged information (prior to the release), it won't be on a Steam discussion forum.

It'll be here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3645160/
here https://www.facebook.com/frostpunkgame/
here https://x.com/frostpunkgame
and here https://www.reddit.com/r/Frostpunk/
maybe they'll share something in their newsletters
or during an actual interview with gaming press.

seems you did read and watch all of these. Whats your opinion for now, are they trying to make 1866 like fp2 or trying fp1 to make better?
Everything they're saying sounds like it's a remake of FP1. So I guess maybe the years of people asking for major changes from a finished game weren't so pointless after all.

I'm sure I'll buy it, but it is a bit disappointing and just sounds like they're going for a "slam dunk" to appease investors, which often don't work out as planned. Would have been cooler to take the FP1 formula to a new setting like a post-nuclear apocalypse or something rather than adding a third Purpose tree.

true mate!

But, to be honest, in the end, i am willing to pay for another FP1 feel game. If its like FP1 but just more beatiful and some new features, i am in it. Sure, a whole new setting would have been cool, but as long as it stays to the original FP1, i am fine with it.

IF they are gonna mix FP2 crap in it, well, its doomed from the beginning.

Btw, i knew fp2 is bad, but oh boi... THAT bad? FP1 right now 2,8k players with 3k 24h peak. Meanwhile FP2 is going with 1k players right now and 1k 24h peak...

Despite FP2 beeing newer and actually should have been better, it seems that no one really cares for it. Well, i also dont know what they tought with this. Anyways, lets see how alters or whats the new game is called will be

FP2 visual is gorgeous, if they just didnt change the freedom of you deciding where to put your buildings, havent they made allpha test of their game to gain critics before going all out? just browsing a minute into FP2 just don make sense of how buildings are put, its creative yet not what I wanted, just sad

FP2 feels more like a puzzle game than a survival builder. At least for me. Also it scaled way to big. Before, when even 2 people died, i was sad and usually restartet. In FP2 i couldnt care less when 1000 die... I have like zero conenction to the game.

No problem if people like fp2. But, its definitely not the game i would have expected after fp1.
Both have their niches, and both have amazing world building in different branches.

I like how raw it is. FP1's goals feel more like 'Can we really do it?', against the impossible while FP2 is more of 'Do you really want it?' against everyone's discontent over humanity's ideals once survival becomes less of an issue.

Something about survival bonding makes me really feel warm, the simple idea that people (not can, but maybe could) do anything if they just tried, so I would love to see more of FP1 in 1886. :AdversaryExcited:

I wish dev add cosmetics in FROSTPUNK 1, its nice to have purpose in the endless mode, they could have a small team for it or just unlock steam workshop for us
