Easier Frost Punk Like game.
I have only 30 hours in this game, but I love it.
It reminds me the game the Pale Beyond, an indie irish game, inspired by the real story of the Endurance and Ernest Shackelton.
It's about Antarctic, ship rescue, extreme cold weather, surviving, exploring, hunting, hard choices, and a very good story driven scenario.
I see no thread here about this game which have a lots of ressemblance.
The game is easier, but you have to manage as well ressources (food and coal mainly) and scout for food. And also the game has a replayability.
For people who love very much the environment of Frost Punk but find it maybe too difficult, I greatly encourage you to play the Pale Beyond.
Cheers !!

I mean, on a really basic level, Frostpunk reminds me of Warcraft 1 and 2 from the 90s. You essentially have a labour pool, resources, and have to balance inputs with outputs. The weather obviously adds another element to it but essentially it's a resource game.

I checked out Pale Beyond and don't like the art style but it does look like Frostpunk players would see similarities there.

Try Against the Storm, it's excellent...not exactly a "Frostpunk" game but it is a city builder where you have to obtain objectives while trying to appease a powerful Queen who doesn't sit well patiently nor puts up with incompetence.

If you want easier, I recommend Aven Colony, it's more chill, not brutal like Frostpunk

You can find for like 1, 2 dollars at keyshops

I absolutely loved Warcraft II. I still play it about once a year.
Also recommend this one, not exactly a colony sim but requires strategic thinking and has a great story:

I am more a fan of frozen environment game with strong scenario rather than city builder, but why not try it

Actually i wasn't looking for an easier game because i succeed well in frost punk as i am a perfectionnist, I was more like stating The Pale Beyond is an easier Frospunk like game for people who consider frostpunk very hard, and that I enjoyed very much playing The Pale Beyond.
cheers
My first pc game ever was War Craft 2. As a kid i walked about 10mi one way to play some game demos there in the summer. War Craft 2 was one of them.

For survival games, i enjoyed Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadville
Help Will Come Tomorrow
This War of Mine
Space Haven

It's easier than Frostpunk but still challenging, the game throws a lot at you as well, and there are several difficulty levels to replay the missions.

You could try out Dwarf Fortress, Rimwold, or Space Station 13.

After experiencing the unrelenting nightmares over there, Forstpunk will feel like Farmville.
