Is there a chronological order to play the scenarios?
Hi guys, just finished the New Home for the first time in a lots of try’s. Awesome, I get the bad ending but that’s how things are sometimes.

Should I play again? Is there a chronological scenario ? Is there a real ending ? Does one continues the story of the others ?

That’s all my questions for now! Thx already!

Chronologically would be Last Autumn, Fall of Winterhome, New Home/Arks are simultanoeus, Refugees I'm not sure but I think before New Home too, and finally On the Edge.

Dont play in chronological order or you'll get difficulty spikes.
Play in the intended order, new home, ark, refugees, winterhome, last autumn, on the edge.
The scenarios are independent, what you did on new home wont have consequences in the other scenarios.

Minor nit-pick. While Fall of Winterhome does take place before New Home/Arks, it does so on an alternative timeline.
This makes it more of a side story best played after New Home.

That said.

This^ is the best answer.

New Home is the default scenario. It also serves as the games tutorial because everything is more or less balanced (the game also forces you to play it before you can even get to the other options :steamhappy:).
All other scenarios after it are the same idea with a new twist to give you a looming problem to overcome on top of all the other things it needs you to do in order to win.

I'm curious, how so? Even with a full dreadnought, there would still be people left behind to freeze to death when the generator blew up and who would be left to resort to... erm, Soylent White, as it were. This would still allow for the horror show that was found by New London's scouts.

Most obvious thing - you cal recall bridge automaton

if this is your reasoning, then that makes even last autumn an alternate timeline as you can take winterhome's core for yourself or give it to them, anything past new home doesn't affect each other as far as I know.

yeah, but if you don't recall it, it fit. you can even have an event where you send the search party toward what we know is new london (from which only one men arrive and die soon after when you don't reach winterhome soon enough)

The point of the statement of alternate timeline with winterhome is most of the event locations in that one reference events in the original game. That automaton most notably.

It is why you want to play New Hope before Winterhome, else mysteries spoiled.

This is why release order is better than chronological. The followup scenarios tend to answer questions raised in the precluding ones.
