Beacon Crash In Mac Os Sonoma
Hi there
I´ve been ñlaying the game for some time now. howedver, since I updated to Sonoma, the game crashes every time I place the Beacon in the city, when it´s suposed to go to the map. Is there someone else having this problem? It´s so frustrating I stopped playing from long time now. I guess something between the new "game improvements" and game programming.
Anyway, I´ve tried chagin resolution, details and so. But it crashes every single time. Any one else ahving that?

Same here! This has been an issue for a long time now. Developers are you doing something about this?

Short answer, no.

Not so short answer.
The only thing this game receives that comes close to "being worked on" is them changing the in game add.
Otherwise, as stated by the devs years ago, this game is no longer being worked on. Even without knowing that detail the fact they made a sequel should act as a ever-so-slight hint of this being the case.

Side note, I've yet to find a steam game forum where the devs of said game pay any attention to what goes on within it. Expecting otherwise is by all accounts an exercise in futility.

Exactly the same problem here! Unfortunately makes the game pretty much unplayable :(

:steamfacepalm: Bought the game today, had the same issue, googled it and people have been complaining about it since Oct 2023. It is now August 2024.

Now I know why it was on sale, LOL.

Really disappointed, great game and an intermittent bug stops you get past unnecessary cutscenes. 11bit seems totally disinterested in fixing this as it's been mentioned for a LONG time.

Just found this b/c I have same issue. I did get it to work once and--foolishly--did not save it right after it successfully went through the cutscene. Wondering whether it matters if you have an Intel-based Mac or an "M" style chip? I have a 2019 MacBook Pro, so the Intel chip.

Just for others' reference... I saved just a few seconds before the beacon launches so I could try some things. I can't find any settings that will let the game go past the cutscene. Dropped all the graphics so low that all my ppl were 8-bit Marios. Tried windowed mode versus full-screen. Raised the graphics to the point that I could see the nose hairs on the guy in the balloon. Nothing.

i came to confirm that i also crash on the beacon. i tried the -nosound flag and it didn’t help. i also tried playing endless mode, but it also craps out at the beacon.

I'm having same issue, it's so annoying, this only happens for me on intel mac too...

For people still looking for this, an update a few weeks ago seems to have fixed it for me.
