Events in Fall of Winterhome if Engineers left at Weather Station and Storm Shelter?
I've heard you can get helpful events in Fall of Winterhome if you leave the Engineers at the Weather Station and\or Storm Shelter at their posts, but I don't know how true this is.

I think the only difference is that you keep getting the weather forecast.
But you can get a lot more research done if you bring back the engineers.
The storm shelter engineers give you the lore event of finding a trail to another city (New London) but nothing useful.
Weather people do the weather, nothing more and nothing less.

You need them all to come back and work.
Bring them all back as you need every engineer you can get. Leaving them doesn't change anything
They will just help you detect the weather and storm. Somewhat helpful. I'd rather have the engineers though.

Are there any other requirements? I left them there for the whole playthrough, but never got that event.

I don't think so, it should pop it in the last couple of days. They finally find something, its a site with a small amount of steel and a trail leading somewhere you can choose to send your scouts on. They don't return, this is the explanation for a scout arriving in A New Home if you don't scout Winterhome first.

If you launched the dreadnought you might have missed the narrow window at the end, I think its the second to last day before it launches itself.

IIRC it happens just very late, like some time before the generator explodes. Like it's also very late to have an event where some people take children (if you have any left) to the cave, where you'll find them in New Home scenario.

If you managed to evacuate with a lot of time to spare you'll never see these events.

By evacuate, do you mean launching the dreadnought or just getting it fully prepped?

Launching, yeah, since it ends the scenario. It may be possible and safe to see these events with dreadnaught fully prepped and just launching it at the last moment - I usually just launch whenever I'm ready, saw these events on a high difficulty run where I barely managed to minimally prep at the last moment.

I held off on launching it until the generator exploded, even taking the option to extend the time with 5 people and a steam core.
...Would having scouts already waiting at the Storm Shelter interfere with getting the event?
