Endless mode
Just curious what settings you guys prefer for endless mode? I'm thinking of trying it out but tbh I've only beaten the first scenario. Should I wait until I've done more scenarios?

Endless Endurance is harder than New Home for equivalent difficulty.
Serenity is easier... and boring.
Builders is fun if you have the Last Autumn DLC
Settlements are nice to have but not necessary.

What the other poster said. Personally, my favorite is Builders. It is wicked difficult with a very fun payoff. The whole point of that scenario is that essentially winter has hit and your people have somehow stumbled on a broken Generator. It seems that your duty is to fix said generator in about 40 days. During said time you have to face the normal challenges that endurance throws at you. AKA, storms every 7 days ( Imagine miny ones from the first scenario), dropping temps, increasing pops, and also random events (If enabled). Then on top of all of this you have to balance building and expanding your city, while also building the generator. Oh, and fun fact any time a storm hits any unfinished stage will get immediatly demolished. So its truly a tight balancing act. Also because you lack a genny, you have to balance, heat and you cannot use any automatons as they require steam power. It can be truly difficult but really really fun.

It's actually easier than endurance. The storms are -70°c at worst for the 50 first days.
With bunker housing and heaters for work buildings you resist just fine.
With less tech to focus on while the generator is not done yet which means more ressource research done early.
Usually I focus on having bunkers and devzlopping ressources before the 2nd storm, having the first generator ressources ready and then start building the gen.
You should be done before day 50 where the real storms start and after that it's like regular endurance endgame.

endless on endurance with settlements/random haz turned on. medium settings except people needs on hard. I play on Flats. It's the only way i play besides doing the scenarios on med/hard.
I want to do a survival mode but I have to AFK because of IRL a lot

Serenity is rather chill, with ~40% of T0 and T1 techs already researched, and the temperature staying comparatively high most of the time.
Probably the easiest endless mode/scenario to try out extreme difficulty.

Endurance is definitely the hardest, with fast dropping temperatures, and storms being 2 days long from the start.

Builders is a bit easier as the first storm will be brutal, but afterwards it only really gets harder at around day 50.
You should probably have played The Last Autumn scenario to somewhat know the generator building mechanics, although not all of them (especially the scenario unique laws) will be used in this mode.

This makes sense, I will probably try to knock out all scenarios before I jump in. I loaded up endless and there was a bunch of buildings I hadn't seen before lol I'm just a noobie

Endless has the same buildings as new home
If you started a builders mode endless, you may want to play The last Autumn first to learn the buildings.

Aside from decorative buildings, nothing is new in endless mode, aside from the Builders building set for constructing the generator.
