How do warehouses work?
Hi. I have a question about warehouses. How do they start working? I completely fill the initial warehouse, which is initially located near the generator, then I build separate warehouses for specific resources, select them, but the resources do not start accumulating. I've tried everything. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do in order to start accumulating additional resources?

Warehouses, or as the game calls them resource depots?

When you build them, you have to click on it to designate the resource it will hold, wood, coal, steel, raw or cooked food. You can change this later. There should be a marker over a depot you haven't done this to to grab your attention.

Depots also don't accumulate resources on their own, you have to have a building that produces that resource.

Finally heat is precious in this game, and depots don't require any heat to work, nor since they don't employ workers is there any penalty for not heating them. So it is better to have them in areas that you aren't bothering to heat.

You do need to have them connected to a street that connects to your generator, like any other building, however.

Maybe. I'm not playing the English version. I'm building a new warehouse, in this warehouse I select a resource that needs to be accumulated, for example wood. I have a wood production that produces a lot of this resource. But in the top line it says, for example, tree - overflowing. And production buildings also write - the warehouse is full, there is nowhere to store the resource. The new permanent warehouse does not react at all.

Warehouses are always connected correctly.

DId you just get a bunch of wood from scouts returning? Click on the stock piles, that storage building you start with close to the generator, and it should have should show your total resources and storage capacity. The number on the left of the slash is what you have, to the right is what you can store.

Maybe a screen shot can help.

A screenshot would probably help understand what the issue is.
Could be missing road, could be ressource not selected, could be the new storage is already full.

In advance, it was my mistake with the quantity and the resource depots. I apologize anyway and thank you for your participation and help.

Not correct actually. A warehouse needs to be connected to a road that leads at some point to the generator to actually work. If you do not have the warehouse connected to a road, the warehouse have no benefit and any reasource inside the warehouse is lost until you can reconnect it again.

TLDR: Warehouses are not always correctly connected. They need road access to actually count.

All of the above plus building additional Resource depots increases your capacity to store goods. You can switch the resource been stored at anytime. Resource depots will have a red diagonal cross above them as an indication they are not connected.

Your Stockpile building in the inner ring is the default capacity, additional resource depots (small or large) will increase your overall capacity.

Note: In the latter part of the game you can demolish the resource depots to make room for other buildings if you so wish. The stored resources will not be destroyed although they will eventually depreciate over time due to your settlement consumption down to your Stockpile capacity.

P.S. I systematically demolish Resource depots to make room for infirmaries that will be sorely needed as the storm approaches and hits your settlement.
