i build 3 workshops for research. The first ring was only homes for people. Send childs to work and you can switch off the generator during work time.
Will try again to master the storm better. Great game.
Now that's a movie finish.
That is completely wrong. As someone who has played most maps on survival difficulty it is absolutely necessary to get at least two workshops on most maps.
There is barely a ressource shortage in New Home either. Even on survival you can spend your ressources there quite friviously.
You are probably just spending your ressources wrong. Going for tech that costs a lot but doesn't net you a lot of ressources. As a very simple example. Many people on New Home will take the bridge automaton back home, when it is in fact better to instead take it apart. The steel will allow you to quickly get a lot of buildings out and the two steam cores can be used to make you Wall Drill so much better.
It is always better to upgrade buildings than to build more buildings, as it means less manpower per ressource. I save a lot of engineers if I have infirmaries and my workers become more productive. I save a ton of workers if I have better hunters which I can then use to produce other ressources.
A new home in particular gives you so many people that it is hard to even keep everyone employed.
i send the automation home becouse i can continue to scout and use it for my first coal mine.
>Wall Drill
i never run short of wood becouse i go the coal mine way. Even at the end there is plenty of wood for the sawmills. So i never need to build wall drills.
>absolutely necessary to get at least two workshops
i think same. in one game i had 8 workshops and still wasnt able to research everything.
I usually go for the bridge and then the survivors close to it after which I return with the survivors. Once there I build a wall drill and a coal mine. The remaining workers I pretty much all set to hunting as in the early stages I have real issues having enough food production.
I believe you also have a steam core early on even in survivor beside the bridge ones and made a hothouse with it.
Once this is done the scenario is practically won and you can just do what you want imo.
yeah you start with one steam core. with that i build a coal mine. i dont disassemble the automation and put it on my coal mine as worker.
Food is also a problem for me and the rarest resource. Hunger is the death reason number 1 in the storm.
I have build a hothouse when i was new to the game but it stopped working becouse it became to cold. Since then i never have build them again ^^ and use hunter huts which work allways except in the storm. So far i never managed to have enough food stocked to bring all the people through the storm.
