Efficiency rises by 20% during the kids 8 working hours.
The same thing applies to engineer apprentices. They only work between 10:00 - 18:00 and each full child shelter benefits two workshops.
If you total the hours that children can work then child labour is more beneficial if taken to the full extent of the book of laws as for apprentices. Doing so runs the risk of a child death and is a no-no for a deathless run. You should dismiss child labour altogether for the Golden path.
Medical apprentices can be useful for research. People healing faster also means engineers in the workshops being healed faster and less need for engineers in infirmeries and medical tents.
