I think there is a limit on how much coal a thumper can store in front of it. So you need more people gathering the pile.

Ahhhhh okay :)

you can increase the amount of people gathering by placing gathering posts in range of the thumper

I get this message when I have two Coal Thumpers being worked. One with an automoton and the other with workers.
I've built Gathering Posts and Resource Depots, but they I still am issued warnings about storage limit when I have both Coal Thumpers activated. If i don't have both activated at once I don't produce enough coal to power up my generator.

This is annoying. Anyone have any success with this error?

I just put about 2-3 Gatherers per thumper. Seems strange to me though, I would say 1 per thumper level should be enough but I don't know.

En effet, il faut que les personnes ramassent le tard de charbon au sol qui est extrait. Problème résolut merci :)

Coal thumpers arnt worth it if you have the steam cores. Steam coal mine is WAY better

Just found this post and found out the answer a few minutes later.

The thumpers produce small mountains of coal next to them.
You need to advice some workers to those mountains as you would do with coal piles.

Since i didnt understand it from this post i hope i can help a few people with this explanation :)

The description of the thumper itself says it needs grathering posts to collect the coal.
It even says how much it can make without them harvesting more than it can put out.
2 For normal.
4 For steam.

Thank you Baresithx!! I looked right away and sure enough there were coal piles right in front of my Thumper.

A steam coal thumper with 10 people on a normal work day will produce enough coal into the pile to have 4 gathering posts with 10 people each gathering from it. You can decrease the amount to 34 people with the first gathering upgrade and 28 with the second gathering upgrade.

If you are having 2 Coal Thumpers you will need 8 gathering posts to gather all the coal. However, you mentioned that one of them is worked by an automaton, this now changes the amount of gathering posts needed. If you have your automaton work on the lowest level, meaning 60% effectivity, it will still produce much more coal because it works 24 instead of 10 hours. So you will need 56 gatherers on the coal thumper with the automaton, as it produces 44% more coal.

Something many people don't realize in the beginning is that the produced coal by coal thumpers isn't directly put into your storage, this is what coal mines do. Coal thumpers put the coal into gatherable outside coal spots.

This is not true. It probably should be, but it's not. You don't need to add additional Gathering Posts for additional Thumpers.
