Corpse disposal, the next law in that chain increases medical building efficiency by 20% regardless of whether there are any dead, and the hope/discontent penalty is only a temporary modifier, as is the bonus from the cemetery law. Besides that, cemeteries take people away from work for a while, and personally I would take more food and 20% better medical treatment over halved hope loss from death, though honestly the food one isn't something I use often and only really take when I have no other laws to pass.

There are a lot of pre-existing discussion posts about this though, so it might be better to just search for older discussions of this to get an idea of the pros/cons of each.

EDIT: Also, to my knowledge, apparently the organ transplants law (the one following corpse disposal) pretty much gives free prosthetics in addition to the efficiency boost, which makes it even better,

If I'm on a more calm lower diff run, and/or went religion while feeling a bit RP-ish (or when on the endless Rifts map and can't find room fast enough away from heat zones) I'll go Cemetery.

In any other circumstances I'll let common sense take control and go Corpse Disposal as it's easily the better option.

I have never seen any evidence of this happening. I wouldn't take is as fact.
Corpse Disposals still the overall better option and everything else said by the above commenter is true though.

I previously read discussions comparing the two, and in one of them there were 3 people mentioning that, I said that is apparently a thing as a result, but have never really seen it myself either, though I am still new so it could be I just haven't been in a situation to use that.

Eh, could be a bug? How old were the posts?
I'm working on a little over 275 hours for whether or not I think it exists. I have no idea if that's considered a long time with thing game or not so take that number with a pinch of salt.

Two years ago, and looking at the names again, it looks like it was pretty much one person said that, one person assumed that person was right and agreed with them, then the original person responded to that and mentioned it again, which I mistook as a third person.

Snow pit is a lot more useful than the cemetery.
Not sure if it's allowed for golden path though (can anybody confirm if it's considered bad ?)

From what I can tell (i.e. I looked up a few guides and looked at what they agree on) what seems to matter is that no one dies, not where you would have put them.
The only laws that seem to need to be avoided are the last three of the Purpose Laws and any that have a guaranteed chance of getting people killed (which as it turns out, is a fair number of them).

if you're a perfectionist where you can get zero deaths, then it doesn't matter which you pick.
I'm more of a cemetery guy myself, because my deaths are minimum.
plus, you still can research/make prosthetics if you need to treat the amputate anyway

In that situation, you would be better off with snow pits still. The 20% boost to medical efficiency still applies even if no one has ever died.
