Endless Extreme build order?
I need help on this one, I struggle for enough coal, my generator has ran out overnight more than once leading to wave of deaths despite the overcrowding law. I can usually find 2 groups of people before the first storm hits but lose during or just after because of sky high discontent.

I just need to know the order to go in tech's and laws to not get exiled. >.<

I start and go 24 hour work law, place down two workshops and keep 10 engineers to build then use the rest of my people on 24 hour shifts for resources.
I research sawmill then beacon and try to rush to the overcrowding law for medical huts, then push for house of healing. Beyond that I think what I'm doing is wrong.

What should I use my three steams cores (that you start with) for?

Because I used two for coal mines and one for a hothouse.
With a couple of hunters huts and the sawdust in food that keeps people fed but I'm running out of coal.

So yeah, laws and tech, what works to get me past the first storm?

I new and started a week ago, so I'm not sure if my info is helpful,
I give up on coal mine that use a core and I have been using coal thumper. The steam coal thumper is the better version but they require more people, some on the coal thumper and some on the gathering post.
It seems that 2 gathering post can handle 1 coal thumper and 4 gathering post for 1 steam coal thumper, I have not use a hothouse before for food but have been using my core for a drill wall, infantry health building thing, a temporary factory and 4 automaton so far. The automaton help in cold places to reduce coal consumption to me or this is what I been doing

For heat, it feel like steam hubs feel like a better choice then upgrading your heart heat range since the steam hubs might be 3 on range 1 and 6 on range 2 compared to the heart that double or ×2 times on the range and the heat level but my info might be wrong

For the start,
Gathering post can gather 2 and 3 piles of resources at the same time I think, when beginning so using those and when people left over, can send the rest on the pile directly while the gathering post is also working, I normally keep 5 people and if not planning on building at the moment, I use them on work, so I have a team on a workplace that I take off and put on when I need to build.

I can try to tell you almost exactly what I did if you want, but I did not survival the last part of the storm tho

Have you thought that you could use a different... more humane approach? :popular:

For the most part, Coal Thumpers are better in Endless before the second storm, unless you're really pushing your scouts as hard as possible. Coal Mines are generally a losing bet on your scarce Cores, there's higher priorities. It's easier to build population than find lots of Steam Cores, as they're generally four or so locations out. Basically you only have to commit 30 population to support a base Thumper, or 50 for a Steam Thumper, quite doable once you get two groups. Plus you can easily group your Thumper and Gathering Posts in a single Steam Hub. One Steam Thumper and 4 Gathering Posts is generally adequate to run Level 2 Generator with Steam Hubs on your living quarters and select workplaces and Improved Heaters or Advanced with the efficiency upgrade.

Your starting Steam Cores should go to Hothouses until you have all the other vital techs to spend 5 techs on fully upgraded Hunter's Hangars, then you can tear down the Hothouses and use the cores elsewhere. Your first four Steam Cores should go to two Industrial Hothouses, which is adequate to keep everyone fed. You can have a third if you want to have a food cushion, but it's generally not necessary.

Sawmills will usually last you comfortably to Day 20-25, so Wall Drill would be the second thing to focus your Cores on before the second storm. After that, Automatons or Coal Mine depending on how things are looking. Don't even bother with a base Coal Mine, they're not worth committing the cores until Steam/Advanced generally.

Not sure why you're getting overthrown from Discontent. You may be overdoing Emergency Shift. Generally the best use of Emergency Shift is keeping a single Workshop running 24 hours. You can also get away with a second Emergency Shift Day 1 for resource gathering, but it's generally not worth it for resources past that, just have resource gathering on as many Extended Shifts as you can afford the Discontent for.

Gotta make hard choices. Eat your soup peasants. :P

I got the achievement for 100 days in Endless Extreme: via trial, error and a lot of restarting. :D

Only two deaths and one was the scripted death from houses of healing.
It almost looked like I could have gone child shelters instead of safe jobs but I bottled it and wanted the extra workforce.

No deaths & child shelters in extreme endless seems entirely possible IMO.

Sawmill > Beacon > Heater > Drafting Boards (tech up) > Hothouse > Steam Hub
... is the way to go. I worked out a couple of hothouses on overtime is enough food for everyone. You'll also want bunkhouses before the second storm.

Yeah, in Extreme Child Labour is nearly mandatory. You're really not going to need them eventually once you get past 250 population or so, but they help a lot in the crucial first 15-20 days. Plus if it gets really bad and you're unable to heat homes adequately during a storm, it's generally a safe bet to overbuild Houses of Healing and just dump the kids there so they don't freeze.
