There was no Waldo Achievement - possible solution

Hi guys, after scrounging many threads and possible solutions, I offer my own.

The description says: "Explore all Frostland sites between the storms", which comes down to two interpretations.
1) You need to visit all possible locations just between two storms. - Doesn't work.
2) You need to visit all "unique" places across multiple storms. - Does work.

What I tried and did not work:
1) Play Serenity mode on easy difficulty. I cleared out all locations before the first storm hit. In another playthrough, I waited after the first storm and then cleared out all locations. I tried several playthroughs all 50+ days, several over 100 days. Something I noticed and which is important later on, the tree-depth of possible locations was quite low.

As the last attempt, I noticed that by activating settlements and inherently thus random hazards, the difficulty jumped to medium. Again, I visited all sites before the first storm. Nothing. After the first storm I visited all places and found first Settlement (Children's mine). In this playthrough I saw more and new locations than before. Just before the second storm started, I got the achievement. I conclude that I visited new, unique locations. It is also possible that during time the conditions for this achievement changed. Hence, the contradicting solutions.

So my solution I propose is this:
Try playing Serenity mode with Settlements on Medium difficulty. That I believe enables different locations to visit. It's manageable to visit all sites before the first storm if you prioritize the scouts tree. Do this. Then visit all locations before the second storm.
In case you still do not get the achievement, repeat the above but for the easiest difficulty in case there are different unique places.

This post is a hidden gem !
I can confirm this method worked for the Xbox (Windows) version of Frostpunk also.

Before the second storm, I found a settlement called Hot Springs and began trading with it... did it a few times then the cheevo unlocked.

And yes, it seems the last of those "unique" places are these settlement-type location, and you don't need to visit each type. Hot Springs traded food with me... Not sure about "children's mine" the op said.
Sad news is... I believe it is not possible to unlock it with the base game alone. Attempted this multiple times with the base game and no deal.
