Scenario achievements are specific to a particular scenario.
Finish a playthrough with Charcoal Kilns as the only buildings that provide Coal
You cannot get that achievement on Endless it has to be a scenario. The wording of playthrough and scenario intend the same thing.
Sorry but you are mistaken. Playthrough awards can and are awarded as you satisfy the conditions for the award.
An example for this been 'There was no Waldo' that can only be achieved between the storms on an endless run. The award pops up as soon as you satisfy the conditions and not at the end as you are suggesting.
Edit: The example you quoted is 'finish the playthrough' the operative word been 'finish'. You then get the award after finishing or completing which is what I also mentioned.
You cannot get the achievement of using JUST Charcoal Kilns for example on Endless because you never finish the playthrough. The achievement popups after the end of a scenario. You are mistaken
The achievements related to "playthrough are"
Bad At Politics
Keep every promise made during a playthrough
Expats
Set up 2 Outposts in one playthrough
Worse Than London
Finish a playthrough without building a single House or Bunkhouse
Better Than London
Finish a playthrough without building a single Tent
Tis But A Scratch
Finish a playthrough without an Infirmary or House of Healing
Charcoaled
Finish a playthrough with Charcoal Kilns as the only buildings that provide Coal
In Endless a condition of being called a "playthrough" is never reached because is Endless you never finish it.
Some of the awards don't mention the word 'playthrough' and pop up as soon as you have satisfied the conditions for the award. Those that do mention the word 'playthrough' are not necessarily specific to finishing the playthrough.
You are correct about the Charcoal Kilns award specifically, it pops up at the end after completing or finishing the play through and cannot be achieved on an endless mode run as you further explained. I didn't disagree with you on that.
Did I mention that you are mistaken? My point being that there are other playthrough achievements and that some of those awards don't mention the word 'playthrough' and pop up as soon as you have satisfied the conditions for the award.
Did you get the achievement for setting up 2 outposts when you did or at the end of the playthrough after finishing? It happened when I did.
Original Poster asked the difference between the achievements which mention Playthrough and Scenario. Since all "playthrough" mentioned achievements the 6 mentioned in my above post are the only achievements which refer to the achievement being unlocked on a "playthrough" the original question basically asks if there is a difference for those achievements and achievements which state Scenarios. Those specific 6 achievements are only unlockable in Scenarios and NOT in Endless which is what the OP asked and is tiring going around in circles explaining semantics to a question.
What means "playthrough"? I gave an explanation.
Let the OP decide for himself/herself and leave it at that.
Ugh dude, really. You are ignored all the context that the OP put in the rest of the message and making it out like he just wants the dictionary definition of a playthrough.
He clearly elaborated, in his first post, that he wanted to know the difference between a playthrough and scenario in the context of achievements.
Lord Drem is 100% accurate in his understanding and analysis of the question and he gave a correct explanation of the difference.
You are being difficult and hyper focusing on one thing to try and prove to yourself or your ego you are correct. Chill out man and realise there is context and nuance here and the OP didnt care about general definitions of a word, he wanted to understand how to get certain achievements and found the wording confusing. Lord Drem has helped make it less confusing, you have just been a net negative and made it more confusing with pointless bickering.
Lord Dem understands my problem in full.
I had problems to unlock those achievements in which "playthrough" is mentioned.
After reading your answers I try to unlock these Playthrough-achievements by fulfilling the required actions during a scenario. At the end of the scenario the achievement(s) should be unlocked then...
The main thing is that you are satisfied and I'm sorry for any confusion that I may have given.
Good luck and I hope you succeed in gaining those achievements.
