If you dont have enough you can switch to regular meal from time to time but gruel is a no go.
Honestly the hardest part in extreme is how to figure out the first gew day not to die of hunger, then it's pretty easy compared to other extreme scenario.
2 advanced fishing harbors on 24 hour shifts is pretty much a nevessity by the end. Foragers helps a little but harbours are better.
So I should try and push for 3x Workshops in the beginning followed up by researching Sawmills and then T1/Harbors?
As for hearty meals + convicts. Once you have convicts you are at the point your not going to keep motivation up (assuming your using them as disposable workforce and not caring about deaths) so you shut of hearty meals to stockpile for the snow if you wont make it before it falls bu t its quite easy to make before snow falls going eng side.
You only need two workshops. two is fine till you get two shift than just one is all you need.
For early food you just get 1 forester to get the nearby camp use that camp till its out than never use a camp again. Only send the forester for the cores after than disband till you finish a stage. Every time you finish a stage send them out to the new areas for large resource piles and skip all the camps and worthless spots.
I just go sawmill into foresters to cover food early.
You don't use hearty meals untill the camp is setup so your starting food is made into normal meals.
Building the gen fast enough should not be hard it takes just over 24 hours to build a part. You set two shift and build it all at once with a structural profilo if need be to get safety up. This lets you have the vents shut of most of the time saving labor producing coal FAR better than trying to run normal hours or short shifts. You skip short shift law entirely to get better laws sooner. Take safe work proc for the safe law needed for the quest. Use it to boost safety just before the events to make the outcome better than turn of. As your only working for 24 hours to build a part you pick days with good gas levels and just make parts when gas levels are lower.
You should not be needing to boost production via the active. Doing so hardly boosts production with it taking 20 workers quite a while to make 5 when 20% boost only cuts of 4 hours at best on the main part. sure its a boost in a pinch but not worth the tech time to get the active for such a small boost thats not needed. The tech can give much larger boosts elsewhere getting you more resources per laborer or higher safe levels earlier.
Last autumn is most def the easiest extreme mode map if just going for a finsh. If going to the fastest possible "perfect gen" than its a bit harder but still not bad.
Still bugs me that Reloading Stations can't keep up with Docks and that a Steam Dock supplies enough materials to fuel an Advanced Reloading Station + 1 Gathering Spot...
