my personal best game this year :)

- replaybility is definitely given, with a great learning curve

- almost with the new endurance and endless modes given out for free, the gamesize at least doubled (thanks guys :*) almost 200 hours into

- it runs smoothly on my aged gaming pc

- graphics are nevertheless astonishing and innovative

- awesome pricing and content policy aswell

if you like: Civilization, This War Of Mine, Banished, The Long Dark

- a very cold adventure

i cannot clap my hands louder :D

just buy it

Yes! With the new endless mode and 33% off it is DEFINITELY worth it. Go treat yourself! :steamhappy:

Great and hauntingly beautiful game, I've only really played endless so far (scenarios don't interest me so much) - but replayablilty.....only some. Suffers from very repetitive weather cycles, random locations that are not so random and limited building options in terms of city shape (it's circular or.....no it's just circular, but you can have conjoined circles, or slightly separated circles, semi-circles or...other...circles). On standard settings I've usually got a full archive of relics and researched all the tech by day 50-55. Had 3 playthroughs on different maps and all have been a very similar experiences. There is a random events option which I haven't used yet, so that may mix things up a bit. TLDR; Modded Banished (for example) it is not - but visually Frostpunk is first rate. It's on sale at the moment and well worth the price irrespective.

Yup, I was so surprised by how amazing it was. It has some quirks I wouldn't mind enhancing, but otherwise...wow... I haven't been unable to put a game down after getting it for a long but this guy... It is challenging to figure out winning approaches to the scenarios, but once you get the hang of it, it feels so good. The atmosphere is incredible and so immersive, always played with good headphones on. I knew they'd have to come out with an endless mode someday and was ecstatic when they announced it.

Dont lie to him!

Its not worth it, better pick a 3A-Game from a BIG Company who has enough Dev's to care about their Fanbase (EA/Ubisoft) :steammocking:

Nah joke... i would buy it even if it's not on Sale. This war of Mine is from the same Guys, not that big Team behind this two Games but here you have Quality over Quantity. If you like Games which can be really hard and nasty sometimes (Endurance Mode on High + Random Events..... ouch) you can spend some Hours into this Game, for sure.

It's like the Game "Banished" - you spend a lot of time into learning what to do, when to do it and why to get as many People into the next Day as possible, which sometimes won't work :steamhappy:

Otherwise i would say... just go and watch a YT-Gameplay Video or just get the Game, try it and if you dont like it, refund it within the Time (Guess you won't refund it anyway)

In my opinion, it's worth taking it for 2 reasons: it's a good game and the studio developping Frostpunk is worth following (I mean, TWoM). So yeah, take it (just be careful, the game is hard and maybe a little repetitive).

depends. i personally love the game especially for its atmosphere. im not the biggest citybuilder fan but frostpunk got such a cool look and atmosphere with a quite complex gameplay which makes it fun to me. frostpunk currently got 4 scenarios.. 1 main (longest) and 3 secondarys for the story mode. additonal they added a endless/freeplay mode with 2 different settings: build focus and survival focus which is also super fun.
overall the replay ability depends alot on you, the game can be fun to play multiple times trough if you are interesteed to try out harder difficultys or set own challanges lets say trying to be as ''kind'' as possible to your peoples and not doing ''mean'' decisions.
basicly if your interested to get further up in difficulty on each scenario and give yourself personal moral challanges... should i force kids to work, or should they study (for example) it has to me a good replayability to always try performing better as your last attempt.

Edit: each of the 4 story scenarios has its own unique touch with new challanges to overcome. to prevent spoilers i wont go in detail but the differences are quite fun to experience and are refreshing to not have 4 same played scenarios. that beeing said you usually have a similar development on the tech tree but there are differences aswell regarding what the best choice at the current situation is.

overall i assume you have (exluding endless modes) currently around 30h playtime if you are a new player and dont rush trough it and do everythign correct which is unlikely as new player. this playtime will mainly include a slow learn playtrough on each scenario on a single difficult.. if you go up oin difficulty and try to sucess and all your easy above 100h+ especially with the new endless mode which is far longer then the story based scenarios
