What's the train thing about? There's quite a bit of dialogue in French but I don't speak French. Someone said Crève-neige is an easter egg referencing the movie Snowpiercer

Crève-neige means Snowpiercer in French, because the movie is based on a French graphic novel called Le Transperceneige. Maybe they didn't take exactly the same name for copyright reason.

Yes, yes, France was a leading world power for much of post-Roman history and enjoyed numerous victories in many conflicts. However I recall they typically fell short when it came to campaigns against rivals like the British Empire, which we play as in this game.
