Can't minimize game

I like to be able to minimize my games and check emails and such. I normally hold win key and "d" which shows my desktop.

Frostpunk is the only game that I can't do that with. I already tried running it in all three video modes including the obvious choice--"windowed". I don't think that has any effect.

Is anyone able to do this?

are you sure ALT + TAB doesnt work? i can do it Easily . but the game does make it hard if you try and get out of it Mid-game, the Memory-leak patch made it like this i think

Constantly, I am always looking for videos, posting bugs or suggestions here, or doing other things and it works fine in fullscreen mode. Plenty of other games I play don't do this properly, but Frostpunk is nearly flawless though after about 30 or 40 times it needs a good exit and restart.

But I don't hold my winkey, I just alt+tab. Holding your winkey while gaming is just wrong. :P

Edit: Do you pause or hit Esc before you put the game out of focus, or just try to do it mid-stride? That's a bad idea in a time management game.

I'll try alt tab later after work. I'm not sure why I use winkey and d. This minimizes everything and it is what I use out of habit. I usually work with several windows open for work irl.

Is it really wrong to do use that key in a game? I never heard that.

I don't know if it's wrong, but it's not the tool for the job as you never really "minimize" a fullscreen game in the way you do a window. Alt+tab is also more effective because it takes you to whichever app you want to use, by holding down alt and tabbing until you get to the one you want to work with.

The game will lock you out from alt-tabbing unless you have something up in the background you can alt-tab to. Not sure why the game is this way, no other games I play are like this. I always have something open in the background like Afterburner or Task Manager so I can switch to the desktop when I need to do so and can't get out of the game.
