Do we micro sick people?
I'm only ten days in, so not much going on yet, but a lot of people dying. I have a few questions..

1) How to not get them sick in the first place? I'm assuming keep them warm, give them food, and don't ovewrwork them. How do we manage the overworking part? How do we know when they are overworked before they get sick, so they don't get sent out.

2) How to cure the sick? As part of the early questline, I made my pops a little infirmary which staffs 5 engineers. Do I micro this infrimary? Do I have the find the sick people and send them there myself, or will the citizens just fill in as hospital beds open up?

3) I guess any other early game tips on not losing too many pops would be helpful, but from what I've read, in the early game, the three variables I mentioned in Part 1) seem to be most important.

The beds will be used as available. You need more medical posts.
I'm not sure overwork (extended shift not emergency shift) matters much for sickness.

ok, i needed to build about 5 of these early game med tents. This takes care of most of my sick people. Is this large # of med tents normal by day 15?

1) You are correct, but this is immpossible on early and mid game. I rather use emergency shift and extended shift as much as possible.

When temperature is -40C, you CANNOT send workers to collect resource directly, or build too much buildings without a steam hub near by. Otherwise, workers will get gravely ill. Build a gathering post near the resource or build a steam hub first. Also, always have home for each person, generator must turn ON at night if you don't have enough tents for everyone.

2) The best solution for dealing mass amount of sick, specially in survivor mode, is get sustain life and overcrowding. Remeber, only infrimary can curve gravly ill workers, you need to prevent this on early game. Always max out medical post when after you signed overcrowding.

No need to rush infrimary if nobody is in gravly illness.

3) For book of laws, I always go emergency shift, follow by extended shift, then sustain life, and overcrowding.

Thank you. i just want to confirm you mean -40C. I'am at Day 15, and I have not seen anything that cold. The coldest has been -40F.

You must play in easy mode i guess. I don't think you have that much of sickness in easy mode.

After the first temp drop you do not want anyone working outside a heated zone. Biggest thing early is to have at least 2 workshops (first day) and not have sick people, the more sick the longer it is to get setup. Have a clear setup / goal and think ahead.

You're using Fahrenheit? Not sure the equivalent temperatures.

You only unlock difficulty settings after surviving at least 20 days or something.
