Does the Final Storm always last the same amount of time?
I recently had my first successful run of A New Hope Scenario. The Final Storm appeared to last about 5 days, not a full 7 days. I was far short of the projected need for 2.4k food yet somehow I never ran out of food despite all the food production centers being closed. I did get 4 events of people finding a few extra supplies though... I was under the impression that the final storm was supposed to last a full week and become progressively colder up to -180 degrees F. Granted, my city survived with only 502 souls. Of the three waves of refugees that came in, I am pretty sure most of them died in the middle of my overburdened Automaton controlled Universal Healthcare s ystem, even without triaging. At one point I had over 150 people gravely ill.

I believe the storm starts either day 41 or 43 and ends 49 (the night between 48 - 49 is when the -150C wave hits) and yes I'm pretty sure its always the same amount of time.

I think the reason you had enough food is because enough people died, can't think of any other reason.

150 gravely ill is nothing, try the 'Central Heating' achievement, I had over 250 gravely ill and they dropped like flies as everything shut down, still the city survive (450 left of 680).

You are wrong. I finished "new home" campaign with 679 people alive and noone gravely ill (saved everyone from every location, a couple people died only due to scripted events) and I had plenty of food before the storm (4K raw and 2k rations). And I also had every single tech researched. People are everything in this game, if you have enough workforce the game is very easy. I didn't even need to enact any of the 'bad' laws including the last one.

Which isn't what OP described happening in his game, with not enough food to last it is only logical to assume it was death, and therefore less people to feed, that allowed his food storage to last.

Hmm... Come to think of, why isn't that kind of choice there in the Book of Laws? "Faced with starvation whom do we feed?" Would fit nicely, don't you think?

Well, as I mentioned before, I got like 4 events in the religious tree of someone finding people hoarding food supplies. But it isn't like finding such supplies would give me roughly 1000 food. And Sure, people were dropping like flies in the final 2 days, BUT even when the game ended I still saved 502 people. At the start of the storm I had roughly 1.4k food and maybe 600 ish people still alive after the plague of refugees hit and subsequently mostly died from sickness since my Hospice I mean Healthcare services were already overburdened. I think people ate less during the big freeze and maybe a large number of them were on half rations in palliative care. That is the only explanation I can think of because I still had some food left by the end of the scenario.

The long long shot is that the religion was so powerful that they did a Jesus and split 2 fishes and a single loaf of bread to feed potentially thousands of people. I mean think about it. If the City is all that remains of humanity in the world then wouldn't that consequently mean that belief in a God by 502/502 residents would give that god more relative faith points/power to perform miracles?
